Drew Geraci is a comic book creator, born in Pittsburgh, Pa. An Art Institute of Pittsburgh graduate, he spent years in advertising, before turning to comics. His work has been published internationally for DC, Marvel, Disney, Golden Books and others. Credits include work for projects attached to Marvel Studios' The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. He's been a contributing writer for Sketch Magazine, taught creative workshops, did a guest stint as a disc jockey on an FM classic rock format radio station and danced onstage with Iggy Pop. Comic book highlights include Star Wars, X-Men, Batman, Superman, Birds of Prey Nightwing, JLA, Thor, and Mass Effect, based on the popular game.
Drew's currently combining two of his passions, indie rock music and crime fiction, to write his prose novel series, The Demands, published by NDY Books. Both my friends read this comic book and he loved the Tower of Babel arc, while I through it was alright. I can see why the plot was highly praised, but I don't understand the recognition of being the best arc in JLA. That being said, this volume was a great read and you should pick a copy up to decide!

I didn’t care for the writing or the art in these stories. I was really disappointed in the “Tower of Babel” story, which has been held up as one of the best comic story arcs ever and was the inspiration for the Justice League Doom animated movie. Skip the book, see the movie. I was also miffed that this compilation included the Mageddon storyline, which I hated the first time I bought it in graphic novel format.

Best of the 4 Volumes

The final volume of Grant Morrison's JLA is the best. The main story is a prequel to Final Crisis, and it takes up less than half of the book. The remaing two parts of Vol. 4 are JLA Earth 2 ( art by Frank Quitley ), and a separate tale of a new Justice League ( not called the Justice League, but I can't remember what they call themselves. ) you will recognize Knight and Squire in this story ( art by Ed Mcguiness )

All 3 sotries in this book make for a great intro to the JLA. All 3 are very different from one another, and offer something for a reader of any taste. The best of which is Earth 2 ( which should also be available as a stand alone trade )

I recomend this book to anyone looking to see if they are interested in reading more DC titles, or just want to see if Grant Morrison is somebody you want to continue reading. Either way the stories are good ( earth 2 is great ) and the art will offer different tastes for different readers.

Either way you should have some fun reading this book

The Morrison portions of this volume comprise suitably epic challenges for the JLA and weave together strands from the earlier volumes in a satisfying manner. The J.M.DeMatteis episode was a welcome contribution from another of my favourite authors. The Waid chapters are OK. The artwork varies in style, not always to my taste, but generally compliments the story. I've come to these volumes 'cold', since I've not read JLA this century, but I fell in step almost immediately. The old urge to read all the related titles isn't completely conquered but it was not essential to my enjoyment. Having lost any sense of DC continuity helps appreciate these on their own merits. I just needed to feed the void when I had consumed Morrison's Dark Knight run.

Art is terrible, writing is terrible, Batman makes comments the content and in a manner which are utterly out of character. The writer is voicing his own opinions through the medium of Batman and doing it in an unconvincing way. If you have no discernment go ahead but if you view Batman Year One and The Dark Knight Returns as the masterpieces they truly are avoid this junk.
