Plenty of action BUT let down by OTT scenes . Guns with MORE than 20 rounds with killing power of Magnum ?. Shot mulitple times , Falls over balcony hits another balcony slides down sloping roof and SURVIVES ?????. Well I now know the plot for JW4. IMMORTALLITY
John Wick is in great form in this final part of the story, (surely a fourth episode would be a grave mistake). Anyhoo he never stops throughout and anyone who has seen parts 1 and 2 will definitely not be disappointed, the set pieces have an almost slapstick effect, perfectly choreographed and make the latest edition 007 look tame in comparison, John Wick in summary is somewhere closer to Jason Bourne thankfully.
I love the John Wick films, but can we kick the underpowered women to the curb. There are plenty of properly tough women out there who move properly and are convincing. keanu reeves is a properly trained martial artist and carries himself and moves in a convincing way. The females in films 2 and 3 were not convincing and added nothing to the stories. Action movies need more than just pretty.
Ok this is john wick so if you don't know who he is or what he does where have you been. John is a killer who basically kills anyone he comes into contact with. The film is good however not sure why we need another one made as by now he has by my count killed most of the people on earth. Enjoyed the film but please unless you have something really special up you sleeve let that be the end.
Wick's world was rich and deep, from the high table to the slum network... then utter idiocy. a guy in a desert controls the council? A promise to kill, is instantly ignored, an oath to his wife lost with their ring to cower to a nobody? Winston betrays his saviour and we all wonder where the writers went... awful plot, Keanu acted awesomely, with a story that decided to be utterly crap.
I really like Keanu Reeves and the first John Wick was fab. Unfortunately, the second John Wick was ok but not as good as the first and by this 3rd John Wick the story line is running thin. It's just one lot of fights after the other and one tends to wonder why it continues, hence the 3*. It needs another very strong story line.
Definitely my top film of the year. My expectations were high after the second film and needless to say my expectations were surpassed. We get more world-building which is an absolute delight, plus where would we be without the action scenes. For the third film about an assassin, the action is still fresh and exciting - taking influence from a lot of Korean thrillers & Indonesian martial arts films.
I look forward to seeing where the franchise goes from here.
Ridiculously funny piss-take of John Wick 1 & 2, but I did have to watch those to get the in-jokes - some suit. I hope they were able to re-use the stunt men who had to die in every scene in their hundreds. Favourite scene - fighting two oriental ninja-types on his knees - racist as well!
Don’t know what to say about the (to-date) John Wick trilogy. For an action film, it’s up there with the best and the acting, whilst reasonable, will always take second place. I really enjoyed each of the three films (to-date) but can understand that they may not be to everyone’s taste.
Guns, knives, blood, gore, cars, male & female assassins - not for you? Then don’t buy. If you do like them then you’ll love all the films in the franchise.
No story really, just bloodshed and superhuman John Wick! Come on, writers, anyone can write constant gunfire/knife stabbing/machine gun fire/ with no depth at all. Really disappointed. So waiting for it and really let down.
