Our classic: Singvögel (German word for “songbirds”) bird voices clock. A charming wall clock with a lovingly designed colourful clockface and beautiful illustrations by renowned bird artists.
Every hour on the hour you’ll hear for 10 seconds the voice of one of 12 European songbirds– from the blackbird to the woodlark. Authentic bird sounds recorded in the field.
Children in particular get a fun introduction to our fine feathered friends and learn to identify the songs of birds they hear in the great outdoors. More fascinating details about the special characteristics, songs, and habitats of the 12 featured birds can be found in the leaflet, “Where and how they live” that comes with the clock.
A built-in light sensor ensures a silent night. KOOKOO Singvögel comes in 8 different frame colours or in chrome or with a wooden frame.

Recorded in the field by Jean-Claude Roché (France), the carefree singing of these birds will lift your heart, bringing an authentic piece of nature into your home. When darkness falls, a built-in light sensor automatically tells the entire flock that it’s time to pipe down for the night.

Different Frame Variations

KOOKOO Singvögel comes in different frame colours (green, creme-yellow, strawberry-red, black-blue, silk-grey, sky-blue) and is also available with a chrome, leaf or wooden frame.

Songs of twelve songbirds (fixed, pre-set sequence):

blackbird – song thrush – blackcap – garden warbler – robin – nightingale – bluethroat – common redstart – collared flycatcher – willow warbler – woodlark – golden oriole.

Quarz Movement Options

KOOKOO Singvögel: two quartz movement variations can be chosen

-> normal Quartz movement or

-> Radio Controlled Quartz Movement (CET)

The premium radio-controlled quartz movement captures the DCF-77 signal automatically synchronizes to the correct (GMT+1, Berlin time zone) time. The RC movement does also work w/o DCF-77 signal.

I have ordered this clock twice - once for myself, and once as a gift for a friend. On both occasions, I ordered the sky blue model and on both occasions I received the forest green model. There is a difference beyond the color. For example, the sky blue runs silently whereas the forest green ticks audibly. Perhaps a coincidence, but I can’t help thinking there is an ongoing effort to dump the forest green model onto consumers in the hope that they will not bother returning the item.

The birds sounds are very real with good sound quality. Some of them are longer, some are shorter. I replaced my old Audobon, the one with the owl at 12, and the difference is big. Way better quality, also in its parts.. real wood frame vs plastic, a very gentle tick and very nice colours of the birds printed on the display.
Although there are only European birds, so I don't know most of them. KOO KOO should make a version with northamerican ones! they'll sell tons!!

very happy with my new clock overall, specially now that I'm home more than ever.

We have two of these clocks. On the hour, the song of the bird designated for each o'clock sings out clearly. It is sometimes a mystery to visitors how we are able to hear a blackbird in the kitchen! Most of the birds could be heard in England, apart from a blue throat and golden oriole of course. I have tried to get one for my sister but haven't been lucky so far.

I bought a cheaper alternative and the KOOKOO to compare. In terms of build and sound quality the KOOKOO is way better than the cheaper version. Especially the sound is way superior, as I often had to check the time in order to determine if it was a real bird or the clock calling. Also the light sensor which mutes the clock during the night is a valued feature. Though for that hefty price they could have added an volume option.
