Are you one of 90 percent of parents, saying that their top priorities for their kids is to be caring? This makes sense: Kindness and concern for others are held as moral virtues in nearly every society and every major religion.
This charming story with peaceful rhymes and colorful illustrations will explain to your child that it is okay to make a mistake and say I'm sorry. Lucas will teach your child good manners and positive behaviour at home, at school, in the store, and on the playground.
With the perfect examples, this book offers, your child will have more understanding for others, accept diversity, thrive in a multicultural and inclusive environment, and show more empathy. Throughout the story, little superhero Lucas will learn what kindness means and understand what it is like to be kind, sensitive, caring, and generous.
Also included are Acts of Kindness Cards to promote empathy and kindness.
---
Kindness is something anyone can learn:
Give to others and ask nothing in return.
Helping others is simply the best thing to do.
When you are kind, kindness comes back to you.
---
"Kindness is my Superpower" is the first book from My Superpower Series - the growth mindset books for kids, suitable for all ages. We warmly recommend it to parents, teachers, and anyone who works with children.

The plot: Lucas is unkind to his schoolmate (page 2), Mum kindly tell him off (Page 4), Lucas cannot sleep at night for guilt (Page 10) and the next day he wakes up as the kindest kid on the planet. The rest of book ( page 12 to 22) is just a list of Luca's cheesy kind actions, half of them directed to grown-ups such as the not-so-elderly neighbour. There is absolutely no mention to the fact the kindness must be reciprocal, nor any mention to healthy boundaries if someone is unkind to Lucas . A very old fashion plot aiming to teach kids to behave as adults expect them to rather then what kindness is really about. Books like this have left myself and many other children exposed to abuse and predators.

I'm not sure how I feel about describing certain behaviors as bad etc. I don't think I will be reading this to my son.

We haven't had a night yet where we haven't read it since it's arrived and I've loved how the boys have decided Kindness will be their Superpower too.
I can only imagine this must have had a re-write since some of the other comments because I couldn't find any fault at all with the quality of writing and the illustrations were lovely. I think this would make the perfect stocking filler for any child. I shall be buying more for my nieces and nephews.
Thank you, a lovely life lesson told in a charming way and my boys give it 10 stars because 5 is far too few!
