"Kitten & Koi" is a very cute book about friendship. Kitten wants Koi to come out of the water to play, but Koi explains that she cannot come out of the water because she needs the water to breathe. Kitten learns some other facts about fish from Koi while the two try to figure out how to have fun together. Koi suggests that Kitten should try to come into the water, but Kitten isn't so sure. Kitten accidently ends up in the water and decides that the water is no fun. The two friends figure out how to have fun together despite their differences. The pictures are very pretty and go well with the story. This story has a moral at the end, which is nice to see to teach kids a little lesson. The book is great for teaching kids about friendship with others who may be different.
Meet Kitten, a friendly critter who in this story offers for Koi to come out of the water and play with him. Kitten has a LOT to learn regarding the differences between cats and fish! Can the two still be friends though? Can they find a game to play together? Along with being EXQUISITELY illustrated, this is an absolutely DELIGHTFUL story with a touch of humor added here and there.
The second in a series of three, all three books are separate and stand-alone stories. This book is a little hard (not impossible) to read on my Kindle Paperwhite due to the font size BUT anyone with a bigger screen is not going to have any issues. IMHO though, this is a book though that deserves to be purchased in paperback/hardback and given a place of prominence in your home for kids to pick up and enjoy. They are sure to be captivated. I just found one editing error where the 'K' on Kitten is not uppercase like elsewhere but otherwise this book is very well written.
I downloaded this book on my Kindle. I was not required to write a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz
