To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This works as advertised. I used it to serve as an external mic for my new Nakamichi double din stereo. Cord was perfect length to run from head unit, below the dash, to the head liner. Mic is positioned behind the rearview mirror. Picks up my voice perfectly. Took away 1 star because the plastic cover isnt very strong. I was using a plastic spudger tool to insert the cable inside the weather stripping. The plastic tool punctured the cable. Not the strongest.
I Rarely write reviews but I’m hoping to maybe save some people of their hard earned cash. was really hoping it was gonna be better hence all the good reviews, unfortunately when I am on the phone with the mic in my car plugged into my Sony head unit there is a really bad echo affect for the person calling me. I have tried it a few times but anyone who called me got super frustrated because all they could hear was themselves talking. Technically if I could keep the radio volume low enough for it not to make a loop back into the mic it would work but then I can’t hear the other person talking. Do not buy if your head unit is a Sony, try finding a more OE microphone that is made for your unit specifically. I wish I never lost the microphone that came with it.
UPDATE: it was just the noise cancel/echo cancel effect on my head unit I needed to adjust mic is working perfectly!! Sorry for the misconception 5 stars
