Lies from the heart lead to a dangerously intimate case for Sheriff Bree Taggert in #1 Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh’s novel of revenge and fatal deceptions.
When a digital marketer is found murdered in his backyard—hands bound and face smothered by plastic wrap—Sheriff Bree Taggert and criminal investigator Matt Flynn respond to the call. Their investigation focuses on the man’s dating-app profile and the word liar carved into his forehead.
One day later, the killer strikes again.
Both victims are players in the internet dating scene. In their wake, they leave a trail of hurt—and angry—women. But Bree and Matt aren’t convinced the motive is as simple as it appears. Everyone they interview seems to be lying or hiding something.
As the list of suspects grows, the killer’s rage escalates, and he leaves a personal and deadly warning for Bree. They must act fast. Because someone Bree loves is targeted as the next to die.

The battle between good and evil never ends….
You will not be disappointed…..🥰👍🏽👍🏽
Lie To Her was quite the extreme thriller, right from page one, and the huge mystery keeps you guessing the whole way through. I know the clues she kept dropping definitely led me astray, to the character she was trying to lead us to believing was the serial killer the whole way, and then with so many twists and turns we kept second guessing if we were right or if perhaps we hadn’t been introduced to the real suspect yet. Brilliant writing, clues abound and I loved how the reptiles were tossed in there too - a big fear of mine!
I definitely recommend this for thriller lovers, or anyone like me who’s looking for something fantastic outside their usual genre that is just really darn good. No need to read the previous books in the series as it holds up as a standalone (though knowing Bree’s backstory is a bit helpful, it’s not as critical for this book as the previous ones).
I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and Montlake, and this is my honest feedback.
Sheriff Bree Taggert and criminal investigator Matt Flynn respond to a call to investigate a body found in a local man’s backyard. This murder is quickly followed by another and the focus connects both victims as players in the internet dating scene. Anger, jealousy and lies are abundant, and Bree and Matt must find the killer before someone Bree loves is targeted to die.
I couldn’t put this book down. (I read it all in one sitting! Who needs sleep). Leigh is a phenomenal writer. She uses each book in the series to portray the growing relationship between Matt and Bree and the amazing cast of secondary characters draws the reader in and leave you craving more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
This is an absolute must read
Sheriff Bree Taggart has inherited her sister's life with her death. Bree has to give up her loner life to raise her nephew Luke and niece Kayla, keeping the kids living on their family farm with their pets and horses. Bree's relationship with a work colleague Matt Flynn is moving towards a commitment . Her artist brother Adam has come back to help raise the kids too.
Discovery of a sadistically murdered victim leads Bree to a dating app site and women the victim has recently dated. The death toll continues and it soon becomes personal. Who is this mastermind? Can Bree and her force get to the next murder scene before the murder is carried out?
I found this a very engrossing novel and look forward to more of Bree Taggart.
I volunteered to read an ARC through Net Galley.

I really enjoy this series and the dynamics with Bree and her family, Matt and her deputies. I look forward to many more books. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Bree Taggart is one of the best series I've encountered. Lots of action as Bree tries to find a serial killer before he kills again.
A nail-biting experience when the killer targets Bree's family.
I love the way the author always brings her stories to a climax as the story nears the end.
Wonderful characters, as usual. So realistic.
5 stars from this happy reader. Shame I have to wait for Book 7.
