If my childhood taught me anything, it was to survive. Now I have a deep-rooted mistrust of people and a wall of steel and ice surrounding my heart.
So, when Reed Ryan steps into my life, I know I need to keep him far away. He’s everything I grew up hating. Fighting. Fleeing. Devastatingly handsome, he looks like a drunken regret and has heartbreak written over every inch of his body - literally. He’s the quintessential bad boy...and he’s a cop.
But the man is my undoing. When I push, he stands firm. When I fight, he battles for us. When he touches me, my traitorous body and heart respond.
Little does Reed know, every lie I feed him is laced with truth. I have demons that refuse to let me go. Now one of them is threatening to destroy us both.

At times, a bit cheesy, but, thoroughly entertaining! It even had me wrapped up in trying to guess what would happen next!

This love story left me wanting more...I feel like the main characters were just getting started but overall loved every second of this book! It had everything a love story should.

Molly McAdams has a way of writing such emotional books with characters who have these “tortured” backstories.
𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒!!
- PTSD
- Rape (not from hero)
- Police Corruption
- Domestic Abuse (not from hero)
- Drugs
This one started off pretty good. I was really enjoying it, up to the moment where Emma wouldn’t reveal her past and these traumatizing moments for her. It started to carry on and on and on through the story until probably about 80% (I want to say) when it was finally revealed. It was just a bit too long for me in that aspect.
I really liked Reed. This big tattooed muscular man was Emma’s prince charming anyway. He was so sweet and understanding. He never pushed himself on to her. I loved how much consent there was between their relationship.
I don’t mind children in romance books. But the thing that turns me off from them is when they start talking like they’re not children. Nora, would go back-and-forth between talking like a child to talking like a teenager/adult. It really turned me off unfortunately. I will say that the female narrator did a pretty good job at voicing Nora. I find not a lot of narrator‘s can voice children very well.

An emotional, heart warming, tear jerker

Molly is fast becoming my favourite author. Actually scratch that, she is now my favourite author. Heartbreaking stories, centred around strong likeable characters and written beautifully. Another 5⭐️ story. I just hope that by the time I’ve caught up with Molly’s “back catalogue” that she’s released another.
Now to the stuff I look for / need to know before I choose a book: it’s written from a dual POV in the first person (both are my preference by far). It has no cliffhanger and a HEA, and whilst it’s part of a series, it can be read as a standalone (I haven’t read any other books in the series… but I’m about to rectify that right NOW).

An Enjoyable Reed (😁)

Sometimes author's spend so much time making things cryptic and dragging out stories instead of just telling the story. This could have been a hundred pages shorter and still have been a really good book. But I wouldn't mind a Feed of my own.

I couldn't put this book down. What a beautifully written story of love and life. I'm not usually one to like the traditional " and that lived happily ever after" fairytail ending but this story definitely deserved it.

Heartbreaking and Beautiful

I haven't read any of the other books that were based on Reed's family and I'm glad I got his first. This was such a beautiful story as it was heartbreaking.
Poor Emma, no child or adult should ever have to go through what she seemed to have endured her whole life, my heart broke every time she tried to face her demon's. You cannot blame her for the way she is and how she reacts, because really, she's not known any kindness from anyone, especially men. Reed, what can you say, he was so beautifully patient with Emma that you had to feel for him when she lashed out. But not once did he ever retaliate or get angry, and the way he helped her trust was just precious.
Little Nora was so special and you could almost feel the love Reed had for that little girl. Their relationship has been captured so beautifully, I only wish we got a glimpse into their future, perhaps with Emma pregnant with their baby and how she copes with that, a really great read, one of my faves
