I normally use a Daylight Classic but I wanted a cordless model to travel with. I was concerned being cordless (and a brand unknown to me) that this light would not be that bright. I haven't lux tested it but subjectively it is at least as bright as my Daylight. The size is perfect to throw in a work bag for travel. The controls while not labelled well, take about 30 seconds to figure out.

Update: I am a couple weeks in and I'm still quite happy with it. The light seems to be lasting about 2.5 hours on full charge. I don't really use the different settings. I just use full brightness all the time. It is quite simple, one button turns it on and off. The complaints about the complicated settings imo are unfounded. If you want to use the other settings they are easy.

It is really not very bright at all. I think you would need to have 2 or 3 of these right up in your face for effective light therapy.

I bought this light because my condo faces south west and is not lit in the morning, and also I work in a dim room all day (massage therapist), so I really don't get much light in my eyes an my work days. I have had difficulty falling asleep for many years, and I was hoping this light would help with sleep and also just work to regulate hormone release- a lot of things are related to correct light cues received by the brain. I wanted something that had the right brightness and it had to have battery power so I could easily take it to work. I use this light while eating breakfast, and then for a few minutes between patients in my treatment room. I can definitely feel it doing something- the first day I felt almost a "high". I've had it for about a week, and I can already tell I am falling asleep much easier. I like the features it has, although I really only use it at full power and colour temperature. It seems well made, and I hope it lasts- so far it has been perfect!

I love that this is cordless. A charge lasts a long time, I use it about 30-40 minutes per day and it goes 5-6 days without needing to be charged. I like the color options on this. Sometimes a red light seems less obnoxiously bright early in the morning. Overall it's great. Make sure you use it the right way - about 12 inches from your face, where your eyes can see it but not looking straight into it - for 30-60 minutes each day. This is my 2nd lamp and using this is the single most effective thing I have done to fight winter depression.
