I have been publishing under my married name Lisa Shea since 1987 and have published over 450 works here on Amazon. My works are all cleanly written with no explicit intimacy, mild if any violence, and mild if any language. They are suitable for teens and up. The content varies by series. For example, the sword-wielding medieval romances have heroines who occasionally ward off a robber. While it's gently described, that might be called "violence." On the other hand, the Black Cat cozy mysteries have no violence at all.
I have written a wide range of fiction stories. My works include medieval romances, modern murder mystery novels, fairy tales, sci-fi adventures, Scottish regency time travel romances, dystopian stories, 1800s-era black-Indian novellas, Blackstone Valley mysteries, a mystery series set in Salem, Massachusetts, a romantic time travel series, a Biblical-era series, a zoo cozy mystery series, an art museum mystery series, a Native American (Arapaho) series set in Wyoming, a paranormal series, a mythology series, sci-fi stories, and a few standalone contemporary shorts.
On the non-fiction side, I have written books on writing and self-publishing, low carb recipes, relationships, green living, journaling, ASP programming, sleep and dreams, wine, wedding and courtship traditions, Melville poetry, history, working from home, reducing stress, yoga, meditation, twitter, instagram, facebook, flickr, pinterest, linkedin, cyanotypes, monotypes, Holgas, improving memory, parakeets, handling poison ivy, lighthouses, tadpoles, and even conquering a fear of spiders.
My website gets millions of pageviews a month and has tens of thousands of pages of content. I have over 500 pages online to help aspiring authors learn how to develop time management, write that book, lay it out, and get it published. Visit LisaShea.com for all the details, and free to email with questions! You can also FB me, tweet me, WattPad me, or heck, sent me mental signals through the ether :).

Note that Hachette has recently decided to create a pen name of my exact real name- Lisa Shea - and to publish fairy tales on the exact themes I was publishing on. If you see any book released by Hachette or their subsidiaries with my name - THIS IS NOT ME. This is a fake Lisa Shea. I am working to have this situation resolved. Thank you to all my loyal fans who have been supporting me throughout this process.
A gentle reminder to further disambiguate - I am the Lisa Shea author who began writing under this my married name in 1987. I have over 450 works published including over 25 simultaneous series. I am NOT the Lisa Shea of Elle nor Hula (1994). http://www.lisashea.com/lisabase/aboutme/lisashea-elle.html

This book is a compilation of my years of experience, not only with my own parakeets, but also with helping the tens of thousands of parakeet-loving visitors who come to my parakeet forum. Between the group of us we've probably experienced everything there is that could happen to a keet, good or bad.
There is information on choosing a parakeet, feeding a parakeet, and full step by step instructions on hand training your parakeet. You can learn about parakeet activities, parakeet toys, and parakeet socialization.
While the web is of course an awesome resource, often there are times that it's simply easier to read an organized, sequential set of instructions on an e-reader. Also, it seems that web access goes down during emergency situations! Having an ebook version of those "what to do" instructions available on your e-reader has saved many a keet owner. Think of it as part of your emergency care kit for your beloved pet.
If you have any questions, always feel free to email me! I'm happy to lend a hand with keets.
Enjoy!

This book here, originally published in 1820, An Essay on Mineral, Animal, and Vegetable Poisons, is definitely intriguing. Just why would someone have read it in those pre-Civil-War days? To be sure they only harvested safe foods in the woods? To be able to care for sick people in their community?
The unnamed author in his introduction stated that there were NO books at this time on poisons and he figured he should write one. So he was a ground-breaker, in that sense.
For mystery and historical writers, this book is a treasure trove. It goes into what people of this era understood about the various types of poisons. Also, it gives us insight into the risks taken on by various professions. For example, in the lead section, the book informs:
This metal produces effects upon the constitution in a great measure peculiar to itself, giving rise to considerable derangement in the nervous system; as is frequently observed in plumbers and painters.
Another aspect of this book that’s fascinating is that we can sometimes think of the 1820s as ancient times. We figure they didn’t know much about medicine. But here in these pages they know how to provide artificial resuscitation to a drowning person. They know how to perform a tracheotomy on someone who can’t breathe. They knew quite a lot, it turns out.
This book was originally published in 1820. It was published by A. J. Valpy at Red Lion Court in Fleet Street. It says “printed for the author” but it never mentions the author name.
I have freshly illustrated the book. I've also done substantial editing work to clean up the hard-to-read text so that it works perfectly in modern print paperback and ebook formats.
Ask with any questions, and enjoy!

To make the game even more interesting, Kay is disguised as a handmaiden to her sister, Em, so that she might more freely mingle with the suitors. In this way she can learn their strengths and catch them in their most unguarded moments.
As the threat of border reivers approaches the keep, Kay finds that her pleasurable pastime takes on a far more serious overtone. Knowing who to trust and who to depend on becomes a matter of life and death!

Knowing Yourself is book one in the Sword of Glastonbury series. Each novel ends in a happily ever after, which then leads into the next book in the series. Each of these full-length romances features its own flavor, atmosphere, and main characters. Each is set in a different part of medieval England and showcases the natural beauty of its region. Knowing Yourself is set in Cumbria, in northwestern England.
Knowing Yourself is a lighthearted tale of romance and courtship, with a pair of fun-loving sisters, in the style of a medieval bachelorette contest. It is suitable for teens and older. It does not feature any strong language nor any intimacy beyond a gentle kiss.

A Circle in Time is the third and final novella in the regency time travel romance trilogy. It is 114 pages / 17,000 words. The first two novellas end in cliffhangers, while the third provides a happy ending. The series then will continue in another trilogy - those will be coming out over the coming weeks. These stories are teen-friendly with no explicit language, violence, or intimacy. All proceeds benefit battered women's shelters. Note that for those who prefer reading books in all-in-one form, each trio of novellas will also be compiled as a completed box set once all three are done. Either way, I'd love to hear your feedback on the storyline and characters.
Monotypes are stunningly beautiful, amazingly fun, mindfully relaxing, and suitable to old and young, beginner and expert. A monotype is a unique printing expression made from a flat surface. You can make monotypes from a home-made gelatin round or from any plexiglass or glass sheets you have lying around the house. If you wish, you can buy pre-made monoprinting surfaces from Gelli Arts, Gel Press, Speedball, and other vendors. Really, you can use just about any paint-resistant flat surface for monoprinting which can easily be cleaned afterwards.
On that chosen surface you paint, swirl, fingerpaint, stamp, design, and play with the colors. When your design is complete, you then lay a piece of paper onto the paint in order to capture its essence. And then you begin again. Each new expression brings fresh life to your creativity.
Monotypes are a wonderful way to reduce stress, to brainstorm, to explore your creativity, and to simply breathe in the beauty of every passing moment. It is a pure exercise in mindfulness.
This book has everything you need to get you on the road to making beautiful items for family, friends, and for sale. It is intended for raw beginners who need to learn the terminology and basic techniques involved. It provides supply lists, glossaries, and more.
I’d love to hear feedback on the book!

Sorcha had no time for mystical nonsense - there were enough challenges in navigating the mine-field of her mother's vicious temper and the most important event of her young life. For, at long last, she had left Edinburgh to see the world. She and her mother were visiting the elegant city of Bath. Sorcha was wearing the finest dress she'd seen - and she was stepping into a life she'd only dreamt of.
But when Johnny's eyes meet hers, and jealous rivals vow revenge, that delicate layer between what is and what once was rips. It shreds like the fragile thread of one's life.
One Scottish Lass is the first novella in the regency time travel romance trilogy. It is 116 pages / 18,000 words. The second novella in the series is A Time Apart. Diner Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is the first book in the Diner Short Story Mysteries series. These short stories are about 15-20 pages each and feature authentic diners around Massachusetts. Author Lisa Shea goes to each diner personally to write up its sights, sounds, and aromas. That way you, the reader, can take a virtual vacation to these historic locations! Visit Lisa's webpages to see photos and write-ups of the diners. All of the Diner Mystery series contain no violence, no swearing, and no intimacy, so they are suitable for teens and up.
You can read the books one-by-one as they are released, or you can wait for the boxed sets to be published once the series gets enough books in it. It's your choice! I try to write them right after I visit, so that's why there are sometimes gaps in the release schedule. It's not always easy to get to a diner when they're open!

This classic collection of light verse from the beloved American satirist and poet contains some of her most famous, caustically funny rhymes.
A founding member of the Algonquin Round Table, Dorothy Parker helped define the literary voice of her generation. Her urbane sense of irony left no platitude un-skewered, especially when it came to matters of the heart.
First published in 1926, Enough Rope is a collection of short, humorous poems that are quintessential Parker: elegantly sardonic, disarmingly deadpan, and unforgettably funny.- ←Previous Page
