Included are personal tips and best advice from my years of special operations sniper schooling and experience, and as a sniper instructor. If you are an experienced shooter, this guide will be a resource covering the principles and theory of long range shooting.Â
This is the preliminary book to help you understand fundamental concepts such as MOA vs Mils and external ballistics, that can be like a trusted resource at the range.Learning to shoot long range isn't that difficult. I have read several books on long range/PRS, and without a doubt, this one is my favourite.
Informative, easy reading, some lightheartedness, with some excellent details and information... without getting TOO detailed.
The book has now become an excellent "reference guide"
As the title states "A Beginner's Guide to PRS"
Now looking for Mr Cleckner's "Advanced LRS Handbook"
Cheers
I judge books by: Am I looking forward to some downtime to pick up that book? It was a yes for this book for sure.

The only real negative I could find, is its very American (Yes I know its written by an American) so some of it doesn't translate well into the UK market, for example temperatures and sometimes distances.
Overall though I'm happy with it.

Cleckner, puts long range shooting in layman's terms and makes understanding simple. This is a book you can read cover to cover, or dip into as required.
The book covers all aspects from the kit through to the science behind the path of the projectile. No snobbery, no elitist attitudes; just good sound experience put into a clear concise narrative.
A cracking book for any rifle shooter and one that deserves a place on any shooters bookcase.
