Yes, folks, just ONE simple ingredient, which is garlic, garlic and more garlic! And it's in the best way possible for not fresh garlic, which is granulated. Not powdered, not chopped and stored in citric acid, but granulated which is the easiest to use and in my opinion holds flavor better than anything aside from fresh.
You can mix it into soups, stews, chowders, stir-fries, curries, meat loafs, burger patties, and more or sprinkle it directly onto your meat. Add it to fry sauce and tartar sauce and mustard sauce and pizza sauce and any other savory sauce you can think of. Use it to make garlic toast even!
And on top of that, this is a whale of a buy! Even the store where I usually buy seasonings in bulk charges half again as much as this costs for their granulated garlic.
I am disappointed that this name brand is made in China where there are no rules, or reliability on the facts claimed. It is difficult to believe there is any real garlic in this product.
We have been using this product, and became concerned that it added little to no garlic flavor to the food. I researched and found a product made in the USA that tastes like real garlic since it is real garlic. We have switched.
Even though this is a brand name, I have high doubts that it is organic or really garlic.
This is a standard spice in our kitchen cabinet. Instead dressing our salads with store-bought dressings, we use olive oil, salt, vinegar, and this granulated garlic (top it all off with cracked black peppercorns). The texture allows a better opportunity to hand mix this in without clumps (like what garlic powder can do). If you hand-mix your oil and spices onto your salads or barbecued vegetables, I recommend this granulated garlic to give it the flavor you are looking for.
If you need lots of garlic powder, this is the way to buy it. I order this McCormick Granulated Garlic by the 26 oz. bottle for making the dry rub for our frequent big barbecues. We might do 3 dozen or more pork butts at a time, so we go through a LOT of it. Not only is this an incredible value compared to store prices, it's true granules instead of fine, dusty powder. I greatly prefer coarsely granulated garlic and onion over powder for all my cooking, as the flavor is much better and it also seems to stay fresher longer.
Taste just like real garlic! This flavor is as if they were to gather a lot of garlic dry it and then chop it fine and pour into the container to sell like it is real garlic. I believe it is real garlic though. The taste us exactly the same. So it must be. I am unaware of any substitution of any sorts! I truly believe this is the real deal straight from mother earth. Whomever thought of this entire process is a genius. Even the people who pick the tiny grains to put into this bottle must have been really tired of bending over each time to pick up each piece and have also excellent eyesight. Either that they are really short and have fairly decent eyesight. Either way they must have had ants pushing the grains to the surface because it does resemble an ant pile and possibly sun tan the .grains almost like sun grown tomatoes, dont get me started on tomatoes little fruit balls of heaven sent from God the father. Now that is something to think about! GOD THE FATHER!
Something a bit odd about this product. It isn't the same as powdered garlic, not the same as fresh garlic. It has a 'toasted' smell and taste that make it an iconic garlic. It is not carried locally, so was happy to find it here. I have substituted other garlic forms when I've run out of this...and the outcome is NOT the same! It is a must-have on my spice shelf.
I love this McCormick Granulated Garlic! If your recipe calls for minced garlic, and you don't have any on hand, this is the best substitute for the real thing. It imparts true, authentic garlic flavor to any dish; no mess, no fuss. It's not as finely ground as garlic powder, and it will be a go-to spice for any recipe that calls for minced or chopped fresh garlic. I have since purchased more of this wonderful spice for my foodie friends. It's not sold in my local supermarket.
Like garlic and use it often. This is concentrated so you need to use just a little bit, but for some reason we were getting stomach aches after eating things with this in it. Took a little time to track it back to this one ingredient but it was this. No idea why, just know after I quit using it we didn't see the stomach ache issues.
While fresh is always superior, McCormick Granulated Garlic, 26-Ounce is a fine substitute, We do not like preparing fresh garlic with all the peeling and dicing and the smell on our hands. Consequently we use a lot of prepared garlic with the first preference being the jars of garlic from the supermarket but when the extra moisture would ruin an entree, McCormick Granulated Garlic is a fine substitute with a tremendous shelf life.
the product was fine. How ever, the drive came on the weekend. I had company here at my house and there were vehicles parked down the driveway. The driver went to the last vehicle in the driveway, which was a pickup truck, and tossed my delivery in the back of the bed of the truck. NOT IMPRESSED!! That was one of my guests vehicle, not mine. And even if it was mine, why would I ever expect to find my deliver in the back of a pick up truck bed????
