It would be a better book if the author actually went through the steps of building a sample project. Since a majority of the book focuses on a typical Waterfall style project, then building a sample would introduce the concepts and correct order better. Dealing with Sprints could be left for the remainder of the book, as Calendars and Resource creation and assignment are the same for both.
As a refresher, or reference on how to perform some tasks I found the book fairly helpful.
