4.0 out of 5 stars Greater than the sum of its parts...
Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2021
I enjoyed this old-fashioned anthology film even if some of the stories were a little slow in parts. It is a great example of something being greater than the sum of its parts. I would love to see a series of these films made (or a TV show). Clancy Brown is EXCELLENT and is obviously having a great time. There were so many stories and sub stories stuffed into the collection! I think maybe pulling some of the sub stories out and saving them for a sequel or series would have been a good idea to prevent overload. The cinematography and setting was phenomenal. The very real Flavel House in Astoria, Oregon, is itself a star in this movie. I highly recommend this movie but warn you to bring old-timey expectations and your sense of humor along for the ride.
