The manufacturer specifically notes here on Amazon that the swing runs by battery function which is one of the main reasons we purchased it. However when receiving the swing, there is a battery compartment but it’s completely useless as it’s missing the metal contacts inside — apparently its just there to look pretty. I contacted the manufacturer about this as $300 is pricey for a swing but especially for a swing that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to. They offered to send me some of their products as an apology and I received a bottle brush (we breastfeed so this is useless to us) and a toddler snack cup which will be great to use in about a year as our baby is 3 days old.
The manufacturer said they would be removing that the swing can be run on batteries from the Amazon ad, however as of today over a week later it’s still there.
The swing itself is lightweight and does what it’s supposed to.
