La mention du film (Blu Ray) fait état que la trame sonore est disponible en français Canada alors que la trame sonore est uniquement en français France. Ça fait longtemps que je cherche la version doublée au Québec ce qui fait que je suis très déçu de constater que ce n'est pas le cas malgré la mention du contraire dans le descriptif de la présentation du film sur le site.
Pas moyen de me faire rembourser vu qu'il ne faut pas visionner avant. Mais comment savoir avant sinon se fier au descriptif ?!!!
Vous ne m'y reprendrez pas.

Love National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation BUT I rented it for $4.99 from Amazon because I wanted the movie to be the original version instead of the ones played on TV that have been butchered by taking out original funny lines and swearing.
This version sadly has been modified, the picture wasn't that clear, I get it it's an old movie but it seems bad compared to the TV version, AND the lips on the characters didn't match up when talking - that drove me nuts to the point where I couldn't enjoy the movie at all sadly.

OK, everyone was talking about Cousin-from-hell Eddie. Had to watch it. I suppose that since I had to watch it to actually satisfy my curiosity, and that we'd decided to watch sappy Christmas movies for a couple days, it wasn't really time wasted, at least no more wasted than watching a different sappy Christmas movie. But what a piece of crap. Who even laughs at that stuff?

I get it. Slapstick. Some people get off on it. Sometimes you just have to put your brain in a jar, stop taking yourself seriously, and laugh at the absurdness. But, to be funny, slapstick has to be at least 1% plausible. Cousin Eddie dumping black water from his RV to a storm sewer. Running from a stupid squirrel hiding in a tree. Stapling Christmas lights to your house, through the shingles. Nobody is that stupid.

I gave this one star because I couldn't go any lower. There is no scale that goes low enough for this movie. I wish there was a "Negative Stars" setting.

Of all National Lampoon's, it is the only one that became a favorite. In truth, the movie is so funny that it is for Christmas what Adams Family is for Halloween, a classic cult movie. It is in my collection for years and there's no way I can go through Christmas without watching it.

I'm not a fan of Chevy Chase, but the choice of actors, the acting itself, the surrounding environment, the Christmas atmosphere all combine together made it a comedy to enjoy. As well as Home Alone, The Polar Express and all those others movies who remind us the true meaning of the Holidays, Christmas Vacation is a must. It is entertaining and as a collector of original storylines, I believe you would not be disappointed.

1. Zum Film selbst brauche ich nicht viel schreiben, da er einfach Kult ist und auch jedes Jahr zur Weihnachtszeit im TV ausgestrahlt wird ( mit langen Werbeblöcken "juhu"). Was mir persönlich an dem Film besonders gefällt ist, dass er einen relativ kleinen Handlungsraum einnimmt und sich somit viel in dem Haus der Griswold's abspielt. Ebenso mag ich den recht kurzen Zeitabschnitt, in welchem sich die Geschichte/Handlung bewegt. Jeder Tag wird mit einem neuen Türchen am Kalender begonnen, wodurch dem Zuschauer sehr gut visualisiert wird, an welchem Tag man im Dezember (vor oder während des Weihnachtsfestes) ist. Der Film ist einfach toll und witzig. (5 Sterne)

2. Da ich schon die DVD besessen habe, wollte ich gerade auch diesen Film mit einem Blu-ray-Ersatz aufwerten, was jedoch nicht so ganz klappte. Weder die Bild-, noch die Ton-Qualität haben sich wirklich verbessert. Mir fällt ehrlich gesagt sogar überhaupt kein Unterschied auf. Warum ich die Blu-ray damals doch behalten habe, weiß ich selbst nicht mehr so ganz, vielleicht war es die leise Hoffnung, dass es doch eine winzige Verbesserung gibt, die mir nur nicht so sonderlich auffällt. Für jeden der diesen Film selbst noch kaufen möchte rate ich, zur DVD zu greifen, wer die wenigen Euro zur Blu-ray noch ausgeben möchte wird keine wirklich bessere Version erhalten. Somit entstehen auch die 2 Sterne Abzug für die Blu-ray, denn der Film selbst verdient 5 Sterne.

Info: Ich spiele den Film mit einem 4k-Upscaling-Blu-ray-Player von Panasonic und einem 4k-TV von Panasonic ab.

Many 'laugh out loud' bits - but the 'Choosing the Christmas Tree, putting up the Christmas lights, the Squirrel incident, the loft scene, the lingerie shopping trip and the chainsaw scene' are particularly good ... but really the film is funny from start to finish...
