Review

Praise for New Erotica for Feminists:

“This erotica made my loins enflamed with desire... to smash the patriarchy. I would gladly read a whole book of it and pay even a whole Man’s Salary to purchase said book. It deserves to be promoted as much as any high-performance woman in the workplace.”
—Alexandra Petri, Washington Post columnist

"Might be the funniest book of the year (I LOVED this)."
Joanna Goddard, A Cup of Jo

"New Erotica for Feminists accomplishes what the best satire always should: it's smart, funny, and, most importantly, necessary. I loved it. So will you. I could have kept reading forever."
Mike Sacks, author of And Here's the Kicker and Poking a Dead Frog

"This book left me hot, bothered, and pining for more equality. Which is generally my default setting...but still. This is the kind of fantasy that gives us what we really want: men who understand emotional labor and an immortal Ruth Bader Ginsburg."
—Gemma Hartley, author of Fed Up: Emotional Labor, Women, and the Way Forward

"We've never been so amused and turned on at the same time."
—HelloGiggles

"I love fantasy novels, and a whole book of satirical feminist erotica like this ridiculous hilarity is more of an escape than any sword-and-sorcery epic. I also hope that these broads included elves in the book, but if they didn't, I still want to tell everybody to buy it."
—Sara Benincasa, author of Real Artists Have Day Jobs

From my Instagram review:

"New Erotica for Feminists" is a world of decadent pizza-scented candles, Benedict Cumberbatch safe words, and Tom Hardy wearing "Wild Feminist" t-shirts and playing with rescue dogs. Oh, and Ed Sheeran pens an ode to Agatha Christie with "I Love Your Body...of Work".

This book is a fun play on the erotica genre and I could not count the number of times I laughed out loud or had to explain the title: "It's not what you think, it's better!"

So grab this quick read, enjoy the "salacious" stories of respect, all while watching "Salt" with Angelina Jolie over and over again, and by all means, eat pizza. And nachos, for goodness sakes, the nachos. 😂

Truly a joy to read, a great gift for you or another feminist in your life. Also, there's a great list of ways to keep the work of achieving equality going at the end of the book. First on the list? "Read"!

This is a great book to read a section at a time.
You'll want to "binge" it because the stories are so nice and bite-sized, but resist. (Pun KIND of intended.) The satire is much sharper if you read a section a day, imo.

Oh, and don't be scared away or threatened by the title. :) There is something for everyone here, men included, and this ex-football playing Star Wars fan actually laughed the hardest at a "Scarlett Letter" story, and stopped to think after "the elevator story" so don't skip a single one!

I staged a photo that seemed appropriate with my kindle copy of the book in homage to one I actually saw on Twitter.
