FAQs:

Why can't the filaments stick to the build bed?

1. Check the temperature setting before printing, PLA filaments have lower extrusion temperature;

2. Check if the plate surface has been used for a long time, it is recommended to replace it with our new one to ensure an strong first layer adhesion;

3. If the first layer has poor adhesion, it is recommended to re-level the print substrate to reduce the distance between the nozzle and the surface plate;

4. If the effect is not good, it is recommended to try printing the draft before printing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific PLA !!
By K0 on October 2, 2019
I purchased several Overture 1kg 1.75mm spools in several colors for my Ender3 Pro. Using the Creality slicer that runs Cura 1.22, I get stellar results. Prints are sharp with a nice glossy look. Zero stringing or pops. Every spool is vacuum packed and a cool print base is provided free of charge that looks similar to the Ender3 Pro magnetic base. I have not tested the supplied base since I use the Ender3 magnetic base. Very pleased and will be purchasing more.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst PLA I've had so far
By Amazon Customer on November 7, 2020
I usually print with Overture PETG and love it, and go with AMZ3D for PLA. Figured I'd give this rock PLA from Overture since I like their PETG.

Definitely the worst PLA I've had so far. Unwrapping it, looks good, nicely sealed, looks like it was spooled correctly. First thing I noticed is the filament is super soft, like weirdly soft. I figured it was due to the marbling/texture. I had a bit of trouble feeding it in my bowden since it was a tad soft and didn't want to go in straight.

The first thing when trying to print it, this stuff does not want to adhere to the bed, like at all. The only way I managed to get this to stick is with 3 layer of hairpsray, lowering my Z level by quite a bit and upping my bed to 70C. I typically don't need hairpsray for PLA. Even with all that, it warped quite a bit (see pictures).

Second, it clogged my nozzle twice, but that's probably just due to wrong temps. I landed on 220C and that seemed OK.

After all that effort, the prints comes out feeling the exact same as the filament does when not printed. A bit soft and "fuzzy". Not a great texture for a final print. Also, final print is definitely fragile. I was able to snap most pieces of benchy with very low effort.

Too bad, as this will most likely go in the bin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice filament
By MM on February 4, 2020
I've used both Red and Space Gray from Overture (attached picture shows both as a Benchy and poker chips).

The red is a nice bright, matte colour. I've had no issue with consistency, adhesion or stringing.
The space gray is a nice shiny silver colour. I haven't had any problems with it either, however it does tend to string a little compared to the red probably due to its more glossy quality.
I find that the 200x200 printing surfaces which come with each spool possibly provides TOO much adhesion (if that's a thing). I use it with my Tenlog H2 (Ender has ultraglass), as it only has a regular glass bed. Even if a print has cooled, it will require my to use an exacto knife under the print to create enough of a space to get a spatula to pry it off. Incredible adhesion properties and added value per spool, however I'll be at a loss about what to do with all these extra printing surfaces.

I've ordered 2 more spools of Overture, as I'm very impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic filament!
By Sean on January 8, 2020
This is one of (if not "the") most workable filament's I've used on my 3D printer, I bought it for the colour since the brand I usually buy did not have this type of "Space gray", and was pleasantly surprised by not only the colour but also the print quality, as well as adhesion as mentioned in the reviews. It does include a "build surface" which I did not use.

My only issue was that the center-bore has a very large diameter and as a result was not compatible with my spool holder. But heck, I have a 3D printer, might as well design and print an adapter so that it does work, so that's what I did (see before & after photos). Problem solved, and will definitely be purchasing this filament for my next batch of parts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent filament
By MedicalHeadcrab on October 12, 2021
Just got my first 3D printer and used up most of one of these spools with it.
Nearly all of my prints have been with this so far, all have come out excellent apart from the ones my printer's stock build plate ruined by being to grippy.

Using my Elegoo Neptune 2 with a Creality glass plate, I've found it prints very well with basically no stringing from 200-210°. Typically I'll to a first layer of 205° with 0% fan and 200° with 100% fan for the rest, or 210/205° for parts I want better layer adhesion on.
Time of review I'm usually using 65° first/55° for the build plate with a preheat period to ensure my build surface heats up fully and everything sticks well and sometimes applying a purple glue stick if I want the extra adhesion.

Functional prints also came out really great with only minor work needed on them. This filament has fairly low friction against itself, which should be great for printed bearings and other things needing slidey parts.

Overall, great filament. Definitely great for beginners too.

1.0 out of 5 stars Low Density led to major under extrusion, multiple failures in prints.
Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2019
I bought a roll of this since it was on sale, and decided to try it for a two color project. The calibration cube and a couple of other tests appeared to be ok, but when I started on heavier prints for the project I started to have major under-extrusion issues in random places. I took several spot measurements of the diameter of the filament, and it was all 1.70-1.80 mm. So I knew that wasn't the issue. Yet, as you can see in the picture of the tube, there are several layers with minimal filament present, where there should have been a 4mm thick wall. The tube mechanically failed about 1/3 of the way up where those major underextrusions occurred. Examining the failure points, there were random bits of filament, then a solid line, then random bits again, etc. I was able to separate these layers with minimal force.

Then I remembered that I had two calibration cubes printed with different brands of filament. Exact same g-code, so they should be really close in weight, right? Well, as you can see in the pictures, that was *not* the case. The Hatchbox PLA (black) weighed in at 5.47 grams, while the Overture PLA (red) weight 3.92 grams. Nearly 30% lighter!!! Sadly, this is not a good value if prints fail due to structural problems from underextrusion due to the low density of this filament.

This is some really nice filament. Put it to the test on my super wobbly Tronxy X5. It prints well at a lower temp, like 200c on the hot end. The build mat included WITH each roll of filament is a great add on, I gave it a shot with PLA and it stuck on great and my part popped off when cooled down. Very nice vibrant red.
I wrote this reveiw unsolicited for no compensation of any sort for fellow makers to make a solid choice. 🤘🏻
