3.0 out of 5 stars Need Facebook account login, Bad Head-strap.
By joon on October 14, 2020
Quest 2 in good packaging and fair presentation. The good is repeated by every one but here are some negatives to watch for, I have also left some images which could help in knowing how it fits and also those with accessibility needs:
1.Headstrap: it takes about a day of usage to slowly find the right adjustments ,but the head-strap is still a downgrade from previous gen obviously to sell the new Elite straps. previous version used to sit better. With this one you might have to adjust it tighter than what you are comfortable with usually in order to avoid getting blurry image and light bleed coming from the nose area(Images included should help) , but eventually you might get used to it. It puts almost 80% of the pressure on your forehead and sits with an uneven pressure on your face.
2.Lenses: the pupillary distance adjustment is no longer precisely adjustable like the previous gen because it now has 3 settings only from 58-68 mm. this is because the 2 images displayed from the 2 lenses are displayed using 1 display. Due to this you might get to have a wider view angle with the smaller setting and a smaller view angle with the larger setting(also translates into more or less visible resolution)
3.additional costs: The games are not cheap, look up the games you would like to play and factor in those costs. The link cable is ridiculously expensive but you can buy a cheaper one for $20-40. If you play VR a lot you might have to buy the Elite strap which is $69. But before buying that, decide first if you need the carrying case as well or not, if you do, then buy the buy the Elite strap with battery and case all together as it makes more sense since the case alone is $69 as well.

Update (3 days): seems like some others have a problem with images being blurry specially near the edges of the lenses as well. Initially I thought that Im the only one affected and maybe Im adjusting it wrong. My problem with image quality is that only 30% of the images displayed which are at the center are clear. The rest starts getting blurry from that line and it gets worse. Also seems like Elite straps are cracking and breaking so purchase cautiously. Its recommended to wait 1-2 months for other head-straps, battery banks and cases to be released. The original case doesn’t have a good zipper as well.

2nd Update(1 month): ok now after a month I can say I found more corners cut or quality control problems.
1.The the vibrating motor inside the controllers feel like they are getting loose in their place and now sometimes make noise along with vibration. 2.The headstrap also does not have a tight connection with the headset making it wiggle sometimes in its place. I will see how it goes and might purchase another headstrap to see if that fixes this problem at least.
3.while playing games rarely start lagging or getting jittery or choppy and this continues for 10-15 mins. Quest games do not run at 90hz yet as well (maybe future update) so realistically the 90hz advertisement is still an unfulfilled promise, and for a very big majority of the games, their resolution is not higher that what you get on quest

1.0 out of 5 stars Cracks within 15 days of purchace
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 28, 2020
I have had this for 15 days. Already it has cracked. This isnt through rough play or anything, just simply putting the headset on and taking it off. You can feel how cheap they made the sides for this strap. Not worth the money and the quality is shocking. Look online, this problem is universal.
