From USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Jewel E. Ann, comes a heart-warming, second-chance romance.
Lake Jones has the perfect job, an addiction to binge-watching Netflix, and the world’s ugliest cat. She’s also a bit sexually-frustrated.
Until …
Fate bestows a breath of mercy upon her in the form of Minnesota’s NFL starting quarterback. But this gift is no stranger. Lake met Cage Monaghan three years earlier.
It was one day.
One moment.
One kiss that resurrected her dreams of finding love.
His dimpled smile distracts from his imperfections, which include: a love for country music, fishing, a fan club of fawning women, and public scrutiny.
It’s starting to seem like, yet again, it’s the wrong time for their story.
But when life finally gives them their chance, the chapter they write will be one wild ride.
One is a standalone novel in the highly acclaimed Jack & Jill Series.

What a total swoonfest!!!
I totally HEART everything about Cage!!!!
I’ve met Cage and Lake in the Jack & Jill series, back when they were young uns. Cage has my attention even then. Lake, well, she did too, but not always in a positive light. What can I say, the bratty sis role in some of the scenes got the best of me, but I got it, no biggie.
And now, it’s their moment to shine, and shine they did!
Lake cracks me up with her thoughts and lingo. I love her lack of filter, her vulnerability, her humor, her compassion and her strength.
Cage, now him, I can keep going! #SWOON One of the best grand gesture and proposal as far as I’m concerned! #SWOON He’s so grounded despite his status. He’s a total sweetheart. He’s funny. He’s thoughtful. He’s adorable in a manly way. And he’s sexy as hell.
I love how their relationship blossomed in the most endearing way. I’ve practically highlighted every sweet moments they have. It’s the stuff of fairy tale in a grounded way, if that makes sense. It’s like every Nicholas Sparks’ movies (I haven’t read any of his books) done the Jewel way. I can’t even fully explain their story as a whole affected me. I felt the sincerity in every line. The lines grabbed me and just wrapped itself around me in an embrace. The emotions that flowed between Cage and Lake dug itself in my psyche and reminded me what good relationships are about- the highs, the lows, and the middle grounds that make it worth while and enriching.
I love how all the characters enhance the story, and I mean all the characters. Not sure how Jewel does it but each character is layered even when they’re just on the periphery. I love how I saw familiar names. I love how the new ones I was introduced to intrigued me (hint-hint).
Jewel is such a dynamic writer. From the first book of hers that I grabbed (Only Trick), it hit me that here’s an author who thinks outside the box. The nuances she imbues on her stories and characters guarantee you that each of her characters will bring something unique to the table and each of her stories will take you on a ride that you won’t quite expect. And I love her for that!
On a more personal note, I do have to thank Jewel as I read this during a short visit to the hospital and it was the perfect distraction that I needed. Mwah!
Now on to savor all these warm fuzzy feelings… and looking forward to reading the bonus epilogue:D

The rest of the story, though? Very nice... What makes it great is how Lake always talks about things no one else would think to talk about (& her family is the same). It adds a lot of humor.
Their kiss in Beijing - wow...
All the tampons he bought her when he brought her to meet his family? That was really quite sweet, actually.
Her comment about thongs riding up & his answer with the wedgie... Hilarious!
Hear me out. The beginning with Everson aka Kong should not have happened because I was so pumped for their story. So when Cage entered the story line I just couldn't get past wanting Lake with Kong and Shayla. Then their connection was over the top insta love that the little bit of angst at the end just didn't do it for me. The beginning was just too easy which made the rest of the book, shall I say boring until the very end.
I did like it but her other books I've read I absolutely loved.
Jewel has done it again. From beginning to end this story had my attention.
Lake I so wanna be her when I grow up. Cage every girl needs a little Cage in her life
The chemistry between these two characters is real. You feel his love for Lake.
This book made me laugh and cry. Certain parts were absolute perfection. Their words to each other simply beautiful.
Lake and Cage Forever
Looking forward to more from Flint and Everson hint hint wink wink

Years later they meet again by chance. In fact the author gives Lake a very good looking neighbour who she has a crush on.. who ends up being a collegue and friend of Cage. The 'Apollo' and Shayla side story is very cute and I would have liked more of that!!
Lake has an amputation and I think it was portrayed very well by the author and I loved what Shayla did to her dolls! I wanted Thad to make doll size prostheses in different styles!
Overall loved this book and the insight into Jessica & Luke's life a few years after The Jack & Jill series ended.

The blend of quirky and humour overall works well, and I really liked Lake’s confidence in herself, it was nice to see a female lead character who knew who she was and embraced it.
Cage and Lake fit together well, there were some, what my sister would refer to as overly sweet moments, but rather than having me searching for a barf bag they had me smiling, within this story and these characters it worked. I was rooting for Cage and Lake, whose chemistry and affection was clear to see.
This book left me smiling.

My heart broke for him in those books and I really wanted to see him happy, for him to find his One.
Well Cage reconnects with Lake a girl he met a few years previously, after a bad time in his life. He never forget her and doesn't intend to let her get away again.
I loved Lake this girl has been through a terrible ordeal in which she lost her leg. This doesn't slow her down in the slightest. Lake is fiercely independent, she's quirky with a great sense of humour. She's a Netflixs addict who occasionally stalks her neighbours through the doors peephole. The girl is crazy but I adore her she'd make the perfect best friend.
This book will make you smile, make you laugh and make your heart happy.
I loved this book, Flint was my favourite character. I'm so pleased to learn he also gets his own story. You can guess what I'm reading next.
Jewel E Ann is now officially a go to Author for me this is the fifth book in a row I've read by her and I've loved everyone.

Lake is sister in law to Gillian/Jill (remember them?) and she first met Cage three years earlier but couldn't tell him anything as it would endanger everyone.
Three years have passed and Lake has survived a car crash that took her fiance Ben and cost her a lower leg. But she is rebuilding herself and has the weirdest job opportunity from a blind date testing and modelling prosthetic legs for Thad!
She lives in an apartment in Minnesota with her three legged bald cat Trzy (Polish for 3) when across the landing from her a man mountain moves in. He turns out to be an NFL player who's team mate is non other than Cage Monaghan.
I loved it!

ONE did all those things. It is simply a beautiful love story. NFL star Cage Monaghan is one of the loveliest heroes ever. He's not perfect but he's pretty damned close in my eyes.
Lake Jones....I think she stole my heart in equal measure. Not to give anything away but there was a scene on a beach that made me cry for her. Trzy the slutty hairless cat is priceless (as is Penny, the friendly and free spirited neighbour) and the way Lake lives her life and embraces it all is quite breathtaking.
Go into this book as blindly as you can and just let it absorb you. It's funny, sexy, heartbreaking, passionate and memorable. It has a gorgeous epilogue and HEA.
"One is enough. It's unique....One can change everything. One is the best."
Yes. It absolutely is.
