The 1.2 volt rating for NiMH cells still seems to concern people, and there are some very low current devices even today that don't like NiMH or even lithium AA cells, but those are very rare these days. Any device that has more than a tiny load current is going to end up seeing pretty much the same (or better) voltage from an NiMH cell than from an alkaline cell.
I use these in everything from hot-wired flashlights with 3-4 amp draw and 20-30 minute runtime to everyday electronic equipment that gets a recharge every year whether it needs it or not. In many cases I use these instead of alkalines simply because they very rarely leak, and when they do the leakage is not destructive like it is with alkalines.
Noticed that 12-pack was on sale while writing this so bought another dozen along with some C and D adapters. Eneloop AA's are no match for alkaline C and D cells at low current draws, but above 500 mA a good NiMH AA gets into C cell territory and above a 1A draw it's not a whole lot lower capacity than an alkaline D cell.
I'm not saying that these are the only good AA NiMH cells out there (I use EBL C and D NiMH cells) but these have been consistently good for over a decade and have only improved with time. More expensive but IMO worth it.

They are just as powerful and longer lasting than the disposable kind.
