i bought these for use in all of my assorted AA powered products. i’m not sure how to review an eneloop so bear with me, but in a panasonic bq-cc87 i was able to charge an iphone 11 from dead to 50% before all the batteries reported “low”. capacity wise, 1900 mAh isn’t too much, however the good part of these is the endurance (2100 cycles!) and the low self discharge rate. get these over the energizer ones, they’re a bit more expensive and hold less for a reason.

NiMH rechargeable batteries are really good these days, and Eneloops seem to have been leading the way. I have been using these for maybe 15 years now, and don't remember any of them wearing out. That does seem unlikely but I can say that not enough of them have worn out for me to remember.

The 1.2 volt rating for NiMH cells still seems to concern people, and there are some very low current devices even today that don't like NiMH or even lithium AA cells, but those are very rare these days. Any device that has more than a tiny load current is going to end up seeing pretty much the same (or better) voltage from an NiMH cell than from an alkaline cell.

I use these in everything from hot-wired flashlights with 3-4 amp draw and 20-30 minute runtime to everyday electronic equipment that gets a recharge every year whether it needs it or not. In many cases I use these instead of alkalines simply because they very rarely leak, and when they do the leakage is not destructive like it is with alkalines.

Noticed that 12-pack was on sale while writing this so bought another dozen along with some C and D adapters. Eneloop AA's are no match for alkaline C and D cells at low current draws, but above 500 mA a good NiMH AA gets into C cell territory and above a 1A draw it's not a whole lot lower capacity than an alkaline D cell.

I'm not saying that these are the only good AA NiMH cells out there (I use EBL C and D NiMH cells) but these have been consistently good for over a decade and have only improved with time. More expensive but IMO worth it.

According to web search, these batteries, sold by "Honest Wangbing" were likely counterfeit eneloops. They are missing the manufacturing embossed date stamp, which is supposedly the clincher. I noticed, when looking under a magnifying glass, that the sheen of the battery is shinier than real eneloops, which have a nicer matte or semi-gloss white sheen - hard to notice, but the difference is there under close inspection. I've bought at least 4 batches of eneloops over at least 10 years and only these, which I bought in 2016 are failing, even though all are used for the same, flashlight applications. In the photo, I wrote with a sharpie. The embossed date should be above the polarity symbols area. For the battery to the right, you can see the embossed/stamped date of 2015. The counterfeit to the left has no stamped date (though hard to see from the picture without direct light shining on it).

The issue is that on the Amazon website, the first two photos are for the higher model BK-4MCCA4BA, which has 70% charge retention over 10 years, as shown in these photos. The detailed information under ‘From the manufacturer, clearly stipulates 10 year performance and later under Product Information the model is stated to be BK-4MCCA4BA i.e. the higher 10 year model. With all this, any buyer will think it is the higher model/10 year type that will be supplied but actual supply is of the lower model of 5 year charge holding. This is misleading and cheats buyers. Amazon needs to investigate this and take action. I am also attaching photo of what I received and you can compare with photo on Amazon site.
