I am word nerd, geek girl, boy mom, keeper of the books, teacher, and yogi. I practice yoga in hopes to being Zen. My filter is often broken. I wear by nerd and geek status as a badge of honor. I try to find the funny in every day life.

Written with Wit and a Sense of Humor

A journal of well-drawn mishaps for our heroine and her family, J and Tall among them, sharing snippets from their lives. The collection is written with a sense of humor and candor. Short pieces describe a variety of topics, such as menopause, an attack cat, adventurous dogs and yoga. No through line. The author uses exposition interspersed with dialogue and preceded by well-selected quotes. I found these morsels, blogs and quotes highly and perpetually engaging and entertaining. I wish it was a longer collection. Recommended.

The main reason why I enjoy reading memoirs that focus on self-reflection is that they make me feel like I'm not alone on my journey and that self-discovery and growth is a process.
I particularly enjoyed the quote and chapter on success- something that consists of daily rituals and processes.
I don't know why I needed this reminder today and it made me feel good!
+ author's writing style is very relatable:)

I really enjoyed the laidback feeling this memoir conveys. It has that kind of tone like a friend calling you up to see if you want to go run errands together, and I mean that in the best way. It has just a touch of a Nora Ephron feel to it. I liked the quotes that were sprinkled here and there too.

Enjoyable, but brief.

This is not a single story, but a small collection of brief... essays? Anecdotes? I'm not sure what to call them. Little stories that at time could use some fleshing out, but are still charming.
Reminiscent of Erma Bombeck or Dave Barry, and I'm not actually sure if these are shorter than those articles, or if they just seem that way.
