Fantastic results

I am so glad I found this collar, it worked on my dogs immediately and I got shocked myself and it wasn’t bad, just a quick correction. The only issue I have is it can move easily away from the dogs vocal chords so it has to be fitted properly to stay in place. I actually bought a second one after the first because I liked it so much.

BEWARE - can make your pet sick!

I got these and was happy to see them individually wrapped. They look the same as the originals, however, I used one in my scheduled maintenance and cleaning of our petsafe drinkwell 360 stainless steel fountain and was horrified to see what I’ve been feeding my pets.

As with any carbon filter for drinking water, aquariums, etc. I rinsed thoroughly in advance of installing with our clean filtered tap water. After a few hours of use I noticed white debris and bugs floating in the water. I presumed it was from our dog being a messy drinker and debris deposited from facial hair, so I re-cleaned everything including filters and replaced. Same thing happened.

I opened another new filter and repeated the cleaning before use
Protocol, as well as thoroughly scrubbing the stainless steel 360 pet safe fountain. A hot soapy water scrub of hardware, filters and pump scrubbed with brushes, and the new filter rinsed thoroughly in clean filtered water. An hour later, bugs and white crap floating again.

I removed the filter and put it in a clean glass with clean filtered water and waited, sure enough, the water soon had things floating in it. So I broke open the white plastic casing to examine the contents, pouring some of the charcoal into another new clean glass with clean water, and the other onto the cupboard to sift through.

I gave the charcoal pebbles on the bottom of the glass a stir and it was a tornado of debris. While examining the little pebbles of charcoal on the counter, I watched a bug crawl out.

Lesson learned. I will only buy the Pet Safe brand filters as these must have been manufactured in China. I’m heartbroken to think I inadvertently fed dirty water to pets, both have experienced uncharacteristic diarrhea and vomiting lately.

Before writing this review I attempted to contact the seller and advise, hoping it was an anomaly and they’d make it right. No luck, no correspondence, no refunds. So please, pay the extra, don’t make your four-legged friends sick. :(

UPDATE: PetSafe made it right!!! I contacted Customer Service and they responded very quickly. They apologized and offered to replace my purchase immediately - they addressed me personally and were very nice. Fingers crossed that the replacement shipment doesn’t have the same issues!…..

I just opened this box - EVERY one of these individually packaged filters is filled with carbon dust! I’ve never had this problem with the non-name brand filters I’ve bought in the past! Very disappointing purchase!

Weird soapy-looking bubbles in water

I'd used these for a while and they were great, but over the last few months, I'd notice what looked like soap bubbles forming around the edge of the water. This was only a few days after I'd cleaned them, so I knew it wasn't old nasty water. At first, I thought when I washed the fountain, I hadn't fully rinsed the soap off of all of the parts, so I'd take them apart, rinse them, and put them back together. Still got soapy bubbles, sometimes even the very next day. I abandoned filters altogether and haven't had any problems since.

What Happened to These Filters???

My most recent order of the 12-pack has been thrown away. After trying several filters, they all created foamy soap bubbles in our dogs' fountain immediately after putting in a replacement. Frequent changes of the water did not correct the problem--more foam. I also noticed when I rinsed the filters before installing that they no longer show any charcoal running out. It appears the product has been changed and not for the better. I won't be ordering these again, but will look for a suitable generic branch.

Basically the product is an excellent one but this shipment is filthy with carbon. Looks like the boxes were thrown like footballs. Concerned with the quality of the product since there is so much carbon outside the filter.

I am very disappointed with these filters. I really don't think they filter much at all. I am constantly having to change all the water in my fountain because everything gets slimy very quickly. Are these really made by PetSafe? I have used PetSafe products for years and have never had a problem before this type of filter.

I have purchased the PetSafe Drinkwell 360 Premium Carbon Filters that come in a PetSafe box. This order came in an unmarked box, All twelve filters where warped together not individually, were black from all the charcoal dust. I ran cold water through the filter until the water ran clear then let the filter sit in bowl filled with cold water for one minute. The next day the Drinkwell was filled with foam, and there was lots of large flecks charcoal sitting at the bottom of the bowl.
When I emptied the bowl and was wiping it out with a paper towel i could see there was very fine charcoal dust that was covering the bottom and sides of the bowl.
I don't know what was causing the foam, or every had such Charcoal waste in the water when i purchased the filters from a store. I through the rest of them away! Wasn't worth me exposing my pets to something possible toxic.

Will not pass water

Bought the 12 pack. First one clogged within two days, next filter would not let water pass sufficiently right out of the package. Pump is new. Water flows freely without filter. Fountain worked well with other 3rd party filters. Conclusion, these filters are not working. have to push the foam part out of the way to get them to let water flow.

I've used these filters from several others on Amazon and these are the worst. Most of them allowed the water to flow way too freely and one of them would not allow the water to flow hardly at all. One of them wouldn't fit in the holder for the filter. Won't buy agian.

This batch seems to fall apart like it was assembled with poor quality materials. Excessive Charcoal was coming out on some so I had to throw away. I replace them every week. You have to or it’s like poisoning your pets and they get boo boo belly and pukey. Not a bad product. Not the greatest either.
