Outstanding! Great practical techniques along with the theory. I've used concepts in this book for the past 3 years and my staff are better for it. For existing leaders that are looking to increase their capacity, this is where you can start. I hand out copies all the time to leaders that are in growth mode and want to lead different or just better.

Built totally around a business model... look around there's probably an author that has spoken to your genre. The practical is a little hard to wrap your mind around unless you're in business. We had to read it from a church renewal standpoint that required us to make our own application/translations.... if you're good at that.... you'll like this book; if you struggle with making intellectual jumps to your own field of application... you'll struggle with this one. Good start, but more needs to be done.

Here are two quotes from the book "But to practice leadership, you need to accept that you are in the business of generating chaos, confusion, and conflict, for yourself and others around you." Here is another quote, "Yet those who practice adaptive leadership must invite into their lives the discomfort that comes with knowing that their good works are causing distress (or worse) for other people." The book cost $13.00 used. No text book, used or not if it is anything good should sell that cheap. If you are looking for a leadership book don't waste your time on this one. Even the graphs were impossible to understand.
