When Kim Fraser enters the lair of shifter Liam Morrissey to get answers for a client accused of murder, she is unprepared for her attraction to him. But her venture into Shiftertown uncovers too many secrets the shifters want kept secret. The unmated Liam is forced to protect Kim against the wrath of his clan leader and his own father.
What Liam doesn't expect when he makes the mate claim for Kim's own protection is a powerful attraction to the courageous and warmhearted human woman.
This is the first book in the Shifters Unbound series.

This series ia a lot of fun if you are a breed fan. This is the first book in the series and I reccomend reading it first. Besides her last couple of romance books Jennifer Ashley is usually good for an entertaining read. Her storylines are usually interesting and unique. In this story the hero and heroine are well matched, there is definite chemistry and the plot is good. I reccomend starting this series.

This was an amazing set-up for the series! Kim is no pushover, and Liam has depths that he hides underneath his jovial veneer. The way these two interacted was always full of sparks, but there an underlying tenderness, even at the roughest moments. It was awesome how Kim had to get used to all the hugs! These two needed to be mated, they complimented each other way too perfectly not to be <3

love it. It gets going from the start unlike some other authors that linger forever before the action gets going in the story

I have always enjoyed Jennifer Ashley books and this one was no exception. Liam and Kim are a great match. She is fiery and independent and he is the overprotective male to the hilt. This series has similarities to Lora Leigh's breed series. It is different enough to set itself apart but the parallel's are there. If you like Leigh's breed series you should definitely give this book a try. Heat rating would be hot but not on fire. There are loads of interesting secondary characters - I am hoping that we will get to hear there stories later. The secondary suspense plot was well done and kept me reading long after I should have gone to bed

Mild entertainment and a bit of brogue

So once again I wish we could give half a star. Given the option I would have rated this book 3 and 1/2 stars rather than the full four as I've rated better books at 4 in the past (whilst I try to avoid 5's altogether without a very good reason, no such thing as perfection in most cases).
This is what I class as a light read. Its not particularly short, but neither is it especially long and its not the sort of novel that gives me pause for thought. That said, its not bad, but not great. I'll avoid the synopsis as there are multiple versions available already.
This story focuses on two characters, Liam, a fae-cat shifter and Kim a laywer working on a high profile case trying to prove the innocence of a shifter accused of murder. Both characters have their quirks, least of which is Liam's rather strong Irish brogue - slightly overdone at times (in my opinion at least). Kim is not really a very memorable character to me, having only read the novel in full yesterday I had a bit of trouble making her stand out in my mind... Liam does, though not a whole lot more, but Kim completely fizzled out after about an hour.
The characters are not particularly strong and this isn't the best written novel either, its straight forward, simple to read and tries to keep the plot running, though I felt that at times it meandered a little.
A decent read for a slow afternoon but nothing amazing. If you like paranormal and shifter romance novels go for it.

Really Good

I don't understand others comments - this book is witty, fast paced and the characters just well developed enough for the length. There is a bit of sex in it, not that this is unusual for the genre, but it is nicely done and I wouldn't say it was as frequent as some others I have read. This is a good book and I look forward to exploring the rest of the series.

An ok read

I've read better, the story line was a little weak and it wreaked of cheesiness, however it did keep me entertained and wanting to know how the story panned out. It's worth a read but I don't think it's the kind of book to make a lasting impression.
