The PureGuardian Air Cleaner tower is designed to help improve the quality of air in your home by reducing allergens and odors. The multi-layer filter captures airborne particles, such as dust mites, pollens, mold spores and pet dander; while the carbon layer reduces common smoke, cooking and pet odors. It is designed with a pre-layer to capture large dust particles, extending the life of the filter. The 22" tower is effective for filtering the air in medium sized rooms and offers 3 fan speeds depending on your needs. Uses Germ Guardian HEPA replacement filter # FLT4825 (ASIN B0055521W0).

FAQs:

What is CADR?

CADR stands for “Clean Air Delivery Rate” which indicates the volume of filtered air delivered by an air purifier. CADR ratings show the effectiveness of how efficient the air purifier is at capturing fine particles from things like tobacco smoke and plant pollens from the room.

How do I know when I should replace the filter?

It is recommended that you replace the Combination Filter every 6 months — depending on use — to maintain an optimal level of air purification. When the filter turns from white to dark grey or black, it should be replaced with a new one. If the filter is still white, it does not need to be replaced.

Why is the red and/or blue light blinking when I first turned on the air purifier and how do I shut it off?

The air purifier now comes equipped with indicator lights that automatically blink when it’s time to replace the Filter or UV-C bulb. If the reminder lights are blinking the first time you turned on your purifier, simply reset the system by holding down the HEPA filter reset button for 5 seconds until the reminder lights stop flashing. Your product is now set and ready to go!

Do I need to replace my filter?

Yes. It is recommended that you change the Filter (Filter B/FLT4825) every 6 to 9 months depending on use.

bought this to help with allergies in bedroom, although it did not help much with the original purpose (hence the 4 star), i would say to be fair, the purifier probably meets expectation for most users just for cleaner air, the filter is easily replaceable, it has 3 settings with a mechanical switch that is another reason i got this model (can be used to with smart plugs to auto turn-on/off), the lowest setting is very quiet, barely noticeable so is suitable for overnight use in the bedroom

In 2017 I bought the 28" GermGuardian from Amazon and in 2019 I bought the 3in1 GermGuardian 22" from Amazon. Both have the UV light. I couldn't find them on Amazon anymore but wanted to stay with the Guardian brand. The two units I have typically run 12hrs/7days in two separate rooms approximately 100sq.ft. each room. They both do such a fantastic job and are still running (5 years and 3 years). I wake up without a plugged up nose and when I go to clean/change the filters I can see the dirt pulled out of the air. This model, PureGuardian AP2200CA (no UV light), is my third unit purchased and is going in the living room which is approximately 600sq.ft. They are noisy at high speed (not squeaky or grinding but "windy") and that is why I stuck with the brand as I primarily use them for "white noise" when sleeping and they block out enough noise that I can sleep during the daytime if on night shift or when sick in bed. They do blow air out the front but not like regular fan that I personally find irritating. You cannot redirect the airflow but if you turn the unit away from you you can still get the "white noise" without the breeze blowing on you. No more Charley Horses from a regular fan! This brand is worth every penny I have spent and I would recommend it to anyone.

I bought this air purifier for my large open concept front room and it works perfectly! I have a Boxer dog who sheds enough to make another dog and I've noticed a dog scent lately. Christmas is near and I figured we'd be extra busy with little time to keep up with the cleaning and this air purifier takes care of all of our needs plus it's much quieter than all other air purifiers I've owned... I hardly notice it on. I was expecting a smell when I first turned it on because some reviews said to expect it, but there was no smell at all.
The only reason why I gave this air purifier 4 stars instead of 5 is because it blows out freezing cold air! This will be awesome for the summer months, but not now, since it's winter. I just turn the cold blowing air away from me and ta da, it's fine. Others I've owned blew cool air as well, but this air is freezing! Good for hot flashes though lol.
Overall, for the lower price, dust, pet hair, and household smells, it does a great job. I'm happy with my purchase.

This thing is Amazing!!! It sucks and pushed air super well!! Our bedroom is 13*15 with an ensuite and it does the job so well!!

Our bedroom is the dustiest room on our entire house. It's gross. My husband has a sleep machine and dust allergies. He was really struggling this winter. We decided to give this unit a try for our bedroom and we are so glad we did!

The picture I'm posting of the pre-carbon filter it to show you one month use and how much dust that this cleaned from the air!

We use a Honeywell larger room air purifier on our main level and it does the job just as well but the price point was so much higher so wanted something that was a little more economical for our budget and this machine is perfect!

Our room is less dusty and the air feels lighter and cleaner. Plus this machine had a nice constant sound which makes sleeping so much more comfortable (we run it.on high 24/7)

I bought this after my daughter decided she wants to get a cat and my allergies were not agreeing with it. I keep it in my room and now I seriously cant sleep with out it. I love the noise it makes on the High setting it puts me right to sleep and If I'm watching Tv I set it to a medium or low. Its only off when I'm not home and no issues with it at all. It has helped with my allergies as well.

I got a great deal on this at almost half off. If you look around you can find filters that are a little less money. I have ran this all day and night without any problems from it. I noticed less dust building up as fast around the apartment and it seemed to help with waking up congested especially during winter when the heater was on. I have another similar to this of the same brand and mine have lasted. It went over 6 months before the change filter light came on. I did and do clean the pre filter off every couple of weeks which helps. I recommend this!
