Not as good as original brand name but it's much much cheaper

As you can see in the side by side picture (yellow frame filter is original brand name one) this new filter has a lot less pleats than the original, which means much less surface area for the filter, which means the filter is not as effective as the original. But for regular dust and whatnot it should be fine, I just wouldn't use it for filtering really fine allergens like if you have pets and someone in your home is allergic and stuff. I can't give this any less than 4 stars because the price is so much better than the brand name one, you get 2 filters for only 2/3 the cost of a single brand name filter AND you also get additional pre-filters (I think there's like 8 of them). So overall it's a pretty good buy.

The replacement item seems to be of great value as compare to a Genuine-kind filter. It only costs half of the price of the latter . The material used is of a good quality. The package came with prefilters ( carbon sponge screen ) .This spare screen arrangement has definitely made up to the standard if not as comparable to the original HEPA ; it comes to a very close level/rating. It is therefore the item is worth the money for its value.

Doesn’t fit quite as well as the original. The filter isn’t good. Lots of dust build up, I can also see dust on the outside of the machine now. Also, after a few days of switching to this filter the machine became extremely noisy because the filtration isn’t as good. Will have to purchase the original from now on.

The description states you can wash the filters backing to be able to reuse when replacing the charcoal charcoal pads.... No you cant!! They are made out of cardboard and fall apart when doing so. I wouldn't recommend getting these. Go with a different brand of filters.

The Product seems to be of good quality. However I did need to force it a bit into place as there is felt at the top. The Power light does flash red now (Telling me to change filter), This tells me that the unit is thinking it is not getting enough air. will continue to monitor.

I adhered the black separate carbon filter onto the hepa filter and into my Germ guardian machine and turned it on and left the room. 5 minutes later I returned to smell a petroleum type smell in the air. I removed it and smelled the strong odor coming from the filter, couldve been the black carbon filter part, but it didnt matter because it completely took over both. Very unhealthy to breathe in. I was forced to buy the original germ guardian filter which is disgustingly Overpriced but had no odor or toxic smell at all....and isnt that what this is all about.
