For tubing runs greater than 5 feet away from the main distribution tubing, the emitter should be inserted inline near the plants. Shown with Rain Bird TS20/10PS ¼” tubing stake and bug cap.	Optional insertion using Rain Bird installation tool ET/1PK25S. For short tubing runs less than 5 feet, the emitter can be inserted directly into the side of the ½” distribution tubing. The emitter’s sharp barb makes this easy to do by hand, or by using the Rain Bird emitter installation tool ET/1PK25S.	Emitters are color coded for easy identification when seting up or repairing your system: red (2 gph), black (1 gph) and tan (5 gph).

Rain Bird SW10-30PS Drip Irrigation Spot Watering Dripper/Emitter, 1.0 Gallon Per Hour, 30-Pack. This robust pressure-compensating emitter provides a medium 1.0 gallon-per-hour flow rate. Ideal for watering root zones of garden and landscape plants, shrubs, and container plantings. Rain Bird's pressure-compensating design ensures all plants receive the desired watering rate regardless of their position along the distribution tubing run. Uniform flow is delivered throughout a wide pressure range from 15 to 50 PSI. Barbed ends securely retain 1⁄4" Drip tubing for a leak-proof connection. Self-piercing barb allows for direct insertion into the side of 1/2" or larger drip irrigation tubing, or in-line use with 1/4" tubing for positioning near individual plants. Simple to insert by hand, or for faster installation use one of Rain Bird’s insertion tools (sold separately): ET/1PK25S, HPUN1-1S, and HPTCX. Designed with large water passages and self-flushing action to help prevent clogging. Constructed of highly durable UV and chemical-resistant materials to withstand adverse conditions. Rain Bird emitters are color coded to easily identify flow rate. Convenient plastic bag contains (10) black-colored emitters. I bought these for watering a 150 foot row of lilacs. Installation is easy, but it did make my fingers sore because I did a lot of them in one shot. Finished putting them all in, turned the water on, NOTHING. Well, it turns out that I put all 22 emitters in backwards. The directions are vague, and don't say anything about which way they should be installed. There are pictures, but they're tiny and hard to see. In case you're like me and have never seen or used this kind of emitter before, the pointy end with the star shaped hole goes in the tubing, and the water drips out of the bigger, offset hole. Since they fit very snugly in the 1/4 inch tubing, they are almost impossible to pull back out. I ended up cutting the end of the tubing off in order to remove the emitters and turn them around. I used 1/2 inch tubing as a mainline with short pieces of 1/4 inch tubing running water to each plant. I would have liked to put the emitters directly in the 1/2 inch mainline and just run that along the base of my lilacs, but again, the directions were lacking on that point, so I followed the little pictures as best I could and ran individual 1/4 inch lines with the emitters on the ends. Once I got everything put together properly, the emitters seem to work as they should, and I am happy with my purchase and new knowledge!

I installed these originally in 2014 it's now 2022 and a row of 80 trees along the highway by our property. It was the first major product after we bought our home and honestly I didn't expect these to last very long especially since we didn't blow them out super well before winter. Other than the ones I ran over they are still functioning today. I've used several other drip emitters I can get at the local hardware store and adjustable ones none of which have lasted more than 2 years. Highly recommended if you want to consistent drip for a long period of time.

I bought several packages of these in 2015 because I wanted to have them on hand. I didn't have occasion to open one until today.

I installed three of them on a drip line that needed more emitters, and one another drip line, same. None of them worked. I know there was water pressure on the system because the old emitters on the same lines were working fine.

I tried one from another package which I must have purchased at a different time: same design, same capacity, different color plastic. That didn't work either.

Maybe Rainbird has gotten its act together since 2015, but selling whole packages of inoperative product, from different batches at different times, is a permanent deal killer for me. I will never buy another Rainbird drip emitter. I'll have serious reservations about buying any Rainbird product.

I love these drip emitters. I have a drip system running on the boundary of my property. Most of my plants and trees are located away from sprinkler system. The emitters are absolutely easy to install and have lasted several hot summers and still work in the spring when the irrigation water is turned back on.

My original landscaper gave me a brand new pack. I ran through those fairly quick and purchased more in different drip rates. I like the 2 gallon emitters the best as 1 will work for small plants and a few can water a tree. All of this depends on type of plant/tree how much sun and rain your region receives etc. install is easy, maintenance is simple as they don’t need to be replaced b/c they are durable.

The dripper goes in 1/4"(quarter inch) drip pipe. While installing put the end of pipe in hot water so that the pipe is not that stiff and slides easily in the pipe. Insert the pipe from the thin end and not from the thick (round) end. If you do by thick(round) end you might not get the water from the thin end as I did. There is no one who mentions this.
