4.0 out of 5 stars Mac Users: Surprised!
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on April 7, 2022
Having bought a new Mac Studio, I needed to add a webcam and would have loved a unit with a light. Many of the knockoffs had bad reviews with units stopping working after a few short months. The Razor Kiyo was a windows webcam that offered specialised software to control wide angles, speed (FPS) and resolution but appeared to work in basic mode just fine on a Mac. Bought a tiny usbA to usbC adapter and plugged it in to see the sharpness and brightness better than a more expensive Logitech unit ($250) was. The light switches off or dims with a simple rotations of the outer ring. The picture is not only super sharp but colour correct as well. Sorry for the scary shot but it's autofocus works up close as well. Very happy that it works with FaceTime natively. Zoom too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Razer hit a "not so" home run!
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on April 6, 2018
I've been off and on streaming to Twitch for a couple of years now. Recently I have been placing a lot of focus on the quality of my streams. I've used lots of webcams to enhance the quality of my streams; I have used Logitech's 920 & 922 as well as Razer's Stargazer. I now use a green screen regularly and I decided to give the Razer Kiyo a try, due to its light on the front.

I can confidently say that if you are a regular streamer/youtuber, you definitely should purchase the Razer Kiyo. The light is bright, but not overwhelming. It is nice and clean and does not create shadowing on my green screen. The image quality and extremely clear and the camera does not run into any glitches (unlike the Razer Stargazer.)

***UPDATE*** June 6, 2018

Just wanted to give an update; I purchased the Razer Kiyo on March 25, 2018. I have used the camera light to moderate, sometimes between 2 to 4 hours of stream sessions twice a week. Some of the light bar on the front of the camera has burnt out , which really defeats the purpose of this camera. I have contacted Razer with my issue and hope to get some technical support for a possible replacement. I will write an update once I receive their response.

**Update** June 6, 2018
I have sent all my information to Razer and now I am waiting a response. This process has taken almost two weeks and I have yet to have a solution issued to me. I will continue to update. This is my first time using Razer Customer service, and it seems quite delayed.

The price may be high for most, there are lots of cheaper alternatives for a traditional webcam, but the light as well as the image quality on this webcam are top notch. I would highly recommend this webcam for streamers/youtube creators.

5.0 out of 5 stars Window 10

I bought this camera because the camera that camera with my laptop is trash. The first pic is the camera without any lighting. The second is the camera with the ring light all the way up, the last is the default camera my computer came with. Setting it up took forever. I ordered two thinking the one I had was trash, turns out you have to do more to make it work with Windows 10. You can try the following steps. If it doesn't then download Razers Synapse software then try those steps again.

Step 1: (Windows>Settings>Camera Privacy Settings)
Allow access to camera on this device (On)
Allow apps to access your camera (On)
Step 2:
Press "Windows + X" then click
Click "Device Manager"
Click "Cameras"
Right click existing Camera, Disable it
By default, the Razer Kiyo should take over. If you need the option to use the default camera as well you can now, enable the original camera.
Right click, enable Razer Kiyo

I hope this saves someone an hour of their time.
Customer support there is AMAZING by the way. They weren't able to help with the issue, I lucked up and fixed it but they were really nice and tried to help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Game changer

Having endured typical low resolution integrated laptop webcams and budget "HD" external cams for some time, I patiently waited for the Razer Kiyo to come back into stock after extensive review reading. I was certainly not disappointed! The additional interface for fine tuning really is a game changer, no more looking like a ghost, no more switching lights on and off in the room to get a half decent image, all can be done with this webcam!
The interface also allows to pan left/right, zoom in/out and you can manually adjust the focus/brightness if the auto settings are not your thing as well as adjust the warmth, saturation and contrast. The ring light is simple to operate by twisting the bezel.
Crisp clear video when streaming and recording with zero lag, it's everything I ever wanted a webcam to do!
