Product description

Review

“”The writing is feisty and fast . . . King is having fun here . . . Mark Twain was of the opinion that the truth was the funniest joke in the world. All good satire springs from that notion, and this book qualifies as such.” -- The Globe and Mail

“Whimsical and wry, large-hearted and at times laugh out loud funny, but with an underlying gravitas and significance.” -- Quill & Quire
--This text refers to the paperback edition.

From the Back Cover

Thumps DreadfulWater just wants the past to stay put. But when two Indian-rights activists arrive in the sleepy town of Chinook, the laconic photographer realizes he can't shed his cop skin — or his youthful involvement with the Red Power movement — for long.

First a retired FBI agent winds up murdered in the local Holiday Inn. Then someone roughs up Noah Ridge, the egotistical Red Power leader. Could it have anything to do with the disappearance of Lucy Kettle, Noah's beautiful second-in-command? Brimming with offbeat characters and deadpan humour, The Red Power Murders introduces a loveable Native American detective with a knack for getting into trouble.
