A troubled young mother yearns for a shot at redemption in this heartbreaking yet hopeful story from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover.
After serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake, Kenna Rowan returns to the town where it all went wrong, hoping to reunite with her four-year-old daughter. But the bridges Kenna burned are proving impossible to rebuild. Everyone in her daughter’s life is determined to shut Kenna out, no matter how hard she works to prove herself.
The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter. But if anyone were to discover how Ledger is slowly becoming an important part of Kenna’s life, both would risk losing the trust of everyone important to them.
The two form a connection despite the pressure surrounding them, but as their romance grows, so does the risk. Kenna must find a way to absolve the mistakes of her past in order to build a future out of hope and healing.

I wept like no other, I was angry and then wept some more, then I was a bit happy and then wept some more and then I think I was content.
Kenna never meant for any of this to happen , she loved him with every inch of her body , she never meant to kill the boy she loved . After serving several years in prison Kenna embarks on finding her daughter she gave birth to in prison which she never met with the boy she loved .
His parents are now raising the little girl and it takes everything Kenna has and believes in to NOT give up on her daughter and Scotty's memories .
Every where she looks she is reminded of Scotty and daily she berates herself for the tragedy that happened years ago, until she meets Ledger , Scotty's best friend .
I found myself several times wanting to tell Kenna, it's ok it was a freak accident , keep moving forward , and I wanted others to do the same and I felt like we owed her an apology .
Will she find peace? Will she be accepted in the community after everyone knows who she is and what she did? Will she be able to reunite with her daughter ? Will she find love again? Most importantly will she be forgiven?
" There was before you and there was during you .For some reason I never thought there would be an after you "

Very well written story. Highly recommended. I could not stop reading it
Colleen describes things so well i was an empath living through Kenna and feeling everything she went through. I think the valuable learning opportunity is that she shows that bad decisions doesn’t mean that the person is bad. She had to learn how to grow, forgive, be selfless and fight.
I am so glad there was a happy ending and I wasn’t left with a void to fill
My favourite parts:
-“I know what to do when a child cries, but I don’t know what to do when a grown woman cries. I stay as far away from her as I can while she drinks her coffee” (Bro me too! I don’t even know what to do with my own emotions)
-“That should be my Tinder bio. Played for the broncos, Owns a bar, Scared of eye contact” (I just thought this was funny)
-“guys my age had only disappointed me up to that point. I thought maybe I was supposed to be attracted to older men, or maybe even women, because no guy I had every met who was my age made me feel good about myself” (I felt this)
On my spice scale its a 1/5

I work in a school and whenever my students get into disagreements or fall outs I always try to make the point that there isn’t always a right or wrong, or a good or bad person in a situation but that sometimes it’s simply a case of perspective and this book is the perfect example of that.
I really don’t want to spoil anything as I think that the beauty of reading a CoHo book is going in completely blind because her books are experiences but I will say that Kenna and Ledger’s story brought me to tears and also gave me so many happy moments. What an incredible story! I’ve always maintained that It Ends With Us is my favourite CoHo book and that other books can share the top spot but never take it but after reading Reminders of Him I’m not sure I can say that anymore, I can officially say that Reminders of Him is my favourite CoHo book so far!!!
And as a final note I always love that ‘ah ha’ moment where the title and cover of a CoHo book makes sense!

So heartfelt and honest - it's a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, so make sure you have a box of tissues at the ready. That bubble you get in your throat, that ache in your heart - that was prominent for me through the whole book.
What I Love most about Colleens books is the characters - its so easy to relate to them and to be able to emphasise with their lives and feelings. Also im in awe of the writing - how it grips you and pulls you in and makes you believe that you're in the story. Kenna's pain is portrayed so well within the writing. I adored the push and pull of the relationship between her and Ledger.
The uniqueness in this story can be found in the letters written throughout, I found that gave an added insight to Kenna the story. I loved that she wrote to Scotty it truly showed how much she was in love with him.
Another cracking read!! But then we all knew it was going to be right!?!?
