This book exceeded expectations. I've been reading many books on financing and interviews of leading hedge fund gurus, and this book doesn't disappoint. I'm sure I will reread this again sometime in the future just for how enjoyable the writing was. Wasn't expecting to be as thoroughly entertained and educated when I ordered the book, but was pleasantly surprised.
I knew I would learn a few things on each of these super investors when I started Richer, Wiser, Happier. I was wrong: I learned a lot, and the amount of new and exclusive content in this book is staggering.
Each chapter is filled with interesting facts and anecdotes on these super investors, which makes the book very engaging and almost interactive, as William Green provides answers to many of the questions you wish you could ask these investment gurus. His writing style is crisp and concise, and since he covers so much ground, the result is a trove of worldly wisdom.
The fact finding is one thing, but the analytical part is even more impressive: William Green masterfully distills the investment philosophy of each investor and extracts the key lessons for the reader. It is not always easy (at least for me) to understand how these great investors really think, let alone trying to synthesize their (usually complex) thought process about companies and markets. William Green makes this process seamless.
The book is the result of years and years of painstaking research, and carefully prepared interviews, often with people who do not give a lot of interviews (if at all). Every word seems to have been carefully chosen. All chapters are good. In fact, even if you were only interested in one of these super investors, you will not regret having this one on your bookshelf: I feel confident saying that you will very likely learn something valuable, and potentially very valuable.
From the introduction, you immediately get sucked in to the minds of the greatest investors to ever play the game... You learn how simple their investing strategies really are and understand that all it takes is discipline to stick with these strategies, the courage to go against the herd and mental stability in the midst of slander! The author made this an easy read without the typical technical mumbo jumbo you find in other investing books... I don't think you will be disappointed with this purchase...
Instantly absorbing, the book explores how the best investors search for happiness. I've read >50 books on investing and this is definitely one I would recommend although probably more for the seasoned investor
One of the best books on investing I have read. Using the wisdom of so many great investors this guides you through their thinking and principles. A book full if lightbulb moments for me that I can practically apply to my investment decisions. The section at the end giving the source of his writing is invaluable for ideas on future reads. One I am sure I will read again and again.
Been wanting to read this for a while as it has received some great reviews. Found it a really easy read with some good insights from some of the best investors. It is not an investing manual but provides a nice overview of their approaches in life and investing.
