To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
My husband upgraded to the Ring 3 and, unfortunately, it only had two finish choices on the faceplates, unlike the first Ring. I called Ring to ask if they had any other choices and was told they didn’t. After trying to paint the faceplate and buying a “skin” for it, neither of which worked, I found this. It’s the best I can do to match our brass hardware to the Ring doorbell. I much prefer the first Ring doorbell plate that was actually metal that looked like brass. These are plastic and don’t really look like brass. But it looks better than the faceplates that came with the Ring 3.
15$ seems a bit hefty for these because they're pretty thin plastic. I bought the Night Sky one and it was a bit darker than I thought it was going to be. It's almost black. I put it on anyways and it snapped on and screwed in just like the original plates.
The Ring doorbell came with a silver plate (does not match anything on our house/door), so we decided to purchase this plate. There is a definite difference between the one that came with the doorbell and the accessory plate. The accessory plate (the one I'm reviewing) doesn't sit as snug and hold as well. I think because of the location and it being out of the elements, it won't be an issue - more of an observation.
