All Hands on Deck!: A Deadly Hurricane, a Daring Rescue, and the Origin of the Cajun Navy
15-Jun-2021
$9.99
$23.99
A heroic tale of boats, large and small, teaming up and lending a hand in a time of need, based on the true story of a community that came together to rescue survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
When the wind is high and the barometer is low, it can mean only one thing: Hurricane! In the aftermath of a terrible storm, a coastal community is left in shambles, with thousands of people stranded on cars or rooftops. The Coast Guard is stretched to its limit, and all along the coast, schooners and sloops and speedboats wonder "What can I do? I am only one little boat." But by working together, even the littlest boats can make a difference.
Based on the true story of the "Cajun Navy" that came together in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and has continued to assist in rescue efforts after every major hurricane to strike the Gulf Coast in the years since, this tale of courage and community will inspire readers of all ages to step up and do their part.

I Got Two Dogs
20-Sep-2011
$14.99
$26.99
John Lithgow sings one of his most popular songs, "I Got Two Dogs," in this e-book edition.
The clever rhyming text tells of the narrator's two dogs who could not be more different—one is big, one is small, one barks quietly, while one has a loud and enthusiastic bark—but he loves them both the same. The bold graphic art style adds humor by revealing that the narrator's view of the dogs isn't exactly the way others might see them.

A kid's-eye view of school, crammed with enough funny to fill a big yellow bus!
Snappy and hilarious in true Brod Bagert style, these goofy poems are united by their kid authenticity and quirky school themes. From a computer virus that one kid claims is sure to keep him homesick until summer vacation, to the librarian who tames "the savage beast" (a mouse run amok in the library), to a superhero recruited to scare off the school bully, this is most definitely not your typical poetry collection. Robert Neubecker's bright, dynamic artwork propels each poem into another stratosphere of funny. By the end, kids will have contracted a different strain of school fever altogether.
"Kids will appreciate the humor and will see themselves in the high-energy narrator"—Booklist
