It’s a great book, I read it to my 17 month old to prepare him to go to daycare and he was very attentive relating to the activities in the book and I think it helped him with his adaptation at daycare.
The book arrived safe and sound BUT.....the hardcover on the outside is completely upside down in relation to the interior of the book! Very displeasing! AND, as it is for my granddaughter's birthday coming up soon, I would like a replacement ASAP.
My daughter has enjoyed this book since she was 3 years old. It shows a similar set up to her preschool. She identifies with the different children in the book. The illustrations are lovely. I recommend this book.
My 3 year old loves this book. We bought it for her a couple of days after she started preschool. After reading this book, we noticed a difference it her. She wasn’t as scared at school and the crying at drop off decreased. I appreciate how the book emphasized that grown ups come back. I recommend it!
My 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter is obsessed with this book! She isn't in preschool yet and has limited interactions with other kids, so the concept of spending time with them every day was a revelation to her. She quickly learned to spot the "Rosie Tips", and heaven forbid that you miss one when reading the book to her. This present from her Nana was a huge hit. (I suspect, however, that her parents are getting a little tired of reading the same book over and over, but that's life with a toddler ... and payback for all the books we moms read ad nauseum to them when they were little. LOL!)
My almost-2-year-old starts daycare next week and we've been using this book to help her understand what is going to happen at daycare. We talk about how Rosie brings her backpack to school and kisses Daddy goodbye, just like she will bring her backpack and kiss Mommy and Daddy goodbye. We've read it over and over and over at her request!
My son loves this book. I feel like it helped him prepare for school after being stay at home with parents for 3 years. It's nice because I can add him to the book as a character. I would recommend this to everyone. We still read it daily!
