I like a romance novel that has loads of adventure, great story and romance - yes - but not the main focus. I could not have been more pleased to find this series. The heroine is witty, strong, self-reliant and can kick ass. And her supporting cast is brilliant. Shannon Mayer is a non-nonsense writer who gets right to the point and don't drag things on with lots of unnecessary garble. She keeps her story at a fast page-turning pace and I like that in a book. I would definitely recommend this series.

I really like this series and I will continue to read it but this one isn't my favourite. I feel that this one is slower paced in terms of storyline, its constant running around being chased. It is really frustrating. Also, towards the end theres a few errors, wrong character headings, missed words and at one point it blends from 1st to 3rd person views of two different characters in one paragraph. This disrupts the story. Off to read the next one though.

A strong female character, with her unusual side kicks..I like the twists and turns this series has taken so far and the subsequent character development. The author is clearly not scared to play with her main protagonists feelings in such a way that you end up engaging with the decisions they make..lesser characters come to the fore and who is good and who is bad..

This series is nearly on a par with Jaye Wells' peerless Sabina Kane series, though it could afford to be turned up an octane more in my humble opinion.

Very good, have been left wanting more..I just don't want to wait!

Read tons of fantasy and often struggle to find a story that interests me. The main character is both likeable and, sometimes more to the point, admirable. The storyline is good and there is plenty going on to hold my interest. I am just about to purchase book 5, having read the previous books over a few days. This is perhaps the best recommendation I can make. Plan to read all books in this series. If you love fantasy fiction then these books are for you.
