Patricia lives in the midlands of Ireland. She is an avid crime reader so naturally she found herself writing in the crime genre.

A life changing experience in 2009, with the death of her 49 year old husband, meant she had to give up her career, and over the following few years, she rekindled her love of art and writing.

Initially Patricia wrote and illustrated a children's book, but her real ambition was to write a novel. And she did!

In January 2016, she joined with Ger Nichol of The Book Bureau Literary Agency. In July 2016, Patricia signed with Bookouture for four DI Lottie Parker crime novels.

The Missing Ones (Book 1) published in March 2017 and to date has reached a high of number 2 in Amazon UK Kindle charts and number 6 in the US. It also achieved number 1 in all its categories. It is a bestseller in UK, US, Canada and Australia.

Book 2 in the series, The Stolen Girls, published on July 6th, 2017.

Book 3 in the series, The Lost Child, publishes on October 27th 2017

As much as I enjoy these books .. I am getting tired of the concept that Lottie is some sort of super smart Inspector. Her team does all the work and she just seems to drive about and think about herself and interview people that she hasn't a clue what to ask but just hopes something comes of it.
Her solve rate seems due to accident and the work her team, in particular Boyd, puts in.
Nothing about her personality is interesting or pleasant. Or even engaging. She doesn't seem to actually DO anything.
You could write her out of the books and they would continue just as well.

I probably shouldn't have started with book 9 in a series as I'm sure I would've enjoyed it even more. That being said, this was a good read. It was well written, twisty and fast paced. A strong female lead, a great cast of supporting characters and a killer that wasn't easy to determine kept me turning pages. Now I have to start at the beginning of this wonderful series!

For once, everything looks rosy for Lottie with the wedding to Boyd imminent but things are never that simple and the gruesome death of Rachel Mullen is just the start of an investigation that will see the body count rise and past events come back to haunt.

Once again Patricia Gibney has brought Lottie Parker, a favourite detective of mine, back into the action. Love that we see all sides to Lottie and get more insights into her hectic home life and see the interactions, relationships and dynamics within her team too.

Can't wait to catch up with Lottie and the team again in the future.

Loved it - comes highly recommended and deserves all of its 5 stars.

I really don't like the main character at all. She never listens to others, thinks she's always right, is incredibly rude to everyone and put herself in situations I dont believe any policeman/ woman ever would. Because of this it made me dislike the book. On top of that, it was slow and all the action happens in the last few pages. I only finished it because I wanted to know who and why and I'd paid for it. I rarely write reviews and even more rarely bad ones, but this book really got on my nerves

This is one of a series. The previous books were a decent weekend read, but somehow this one fell flat. I read it during lockdown and that could have affected the overall story on reading it.
Lottie and Boyd have their wedding planned, but murders in the town get in the way.
Both characters are well known from the previous books, I struggled with the other characters, there were parts of them missing; that perhaps would have enhanced the story.
I am not an author, I cannot write a book; and cannot imagine how difficult it must be to write about familiar characters when the world has tilted.
I may re-read this when the world is more sane, and view it differently

Another gripping story by Patricia Gibney. I have really enjoyed the Detective Lottie Parker series. The author has developed the relationships of the characters in the story convincingly and uses descriptive language effectively to immerse you in their feelings and thoughts.

I enjoy books that you can fully immerse yourself in and this did not disappoint. This is an interesting story, exploring the dynamics of more than one broken family and the tragic repercussions. Like the other books I have read by this author, I fold myself unable to put this book down.

I have been trying to think who this appeal to and I think fans of Angela Marsons and Caroline Mitchell may find this author's books particularly compelling. I genuinely think however, this series will appeal to most readers. You don't need to read the other books in the series first, but I highly recommended it, they are excellent.

This is Patricia Gibney 's 9th book of this series. I enjoyed Silent Voices as much as all the others. In each book you follow the personal lives of Lottie the detective, her family and Mark and her other colleagues. Each story you think you know who the murderer is but each time you are wrong. Each book is filled with suspense. You will find it very hard to put down once you begin to read. I would highly recommend you reading Silent Voices but after you have read the other eight first. You will be a keen follower in no time. I cannot wait now for book 10!!! I am also hoping that maybe the whole series could be televised!! Brilliant Author..Patricia Gibney!
