Product Description

SP Silicon Power A58 Internal Solid State Drive

3D NAND Technology for Enhanced Reliability and Power Efficiency Applying the advanced 3D NAND flash, Ace A58 features higher reliability and better power efficiency than traditional SSDs equipped with 2D NAND flash. The A58 offers improved endurance and longer battery life that you're able to work longer without frequently recharge your laptop. High Transfer Speeds for Fast Start Up Powered by high quality controller and original synchronous NAND flash, the A58 delivers incredibly high transfer speeds that enable short boot time, fast application loading and quick file processing. SLC Cache Technology for Performance Boost and Longer Lifespan The A58 especially applies the ”SLC Cache technology” that allows all data to be written in the SLC portion first and leads to higher peak writing performance. In addition, the technology can reduce write amplification and thus offer better endurance and longer lifespan of the SSD. Free-download SSD Health Monitor Tool - SP Toolbox Software The A58 comes with a free-download SSD health monitor tool - SP Toolbox Software, which is especially designed for you to easily monitor the current health status of a SSD. By such, you can run a performance test, get an overall health evaluation and check detailed information about your SSD, including used space on device, device temperature, total bytes written, S.M.A.R.T. status, erase count status and block numbers. *Please download the software at SP Official Website. Absolutely Reliable with Bad Block Management The A58 is built with Bad Block Management, which can continually monitor and replace bad blocks to keep your system in good condition with prolonged lifespan of a SSD. Multiple Techniques Supported The A58 is one of the lightest and thinnest SSD of its kind yet it is shock- and vibration-proof since it contains no moving parts. Furthermore, S.M.A.R.T. monitoring system and ECC technology are equipped to promise higher data transmission safety.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy - cheap
By Robobots on April 2, 2019
I bought this because general internet wisdom told me that an SSD is an SSD. Curiously, I was watching a linus tech video on cheap SSDs before buying this. Should have paid closer attention.

On paper, the SSD seemed fine. I mirrored my Evo 950 512 gig and booted it up. It boots up fine. Browsing internet and doing my normal things was fine. It watches youtube videos fine.

Then I loaded a video game. Specifically world of warcraft. And again, it was fine..until I started tanking in a raid. Then, suddenly I had dropped frames and stuttering. Surely this was because I was encrypting while playing, right? Well, I waited for encryption to end. Same issue.

Okay. Let's run crystal disk mark. It shows fine. Sequential read/write is actually comparable to the evo 950. So what gives? Then I used AS SSD benchmark...and you can see from the screenshots I didn't even bother finishing the test, it was so slow.

Don't get this. I've moved my games to the evo 950 and so far it's *okay* but the whole point was to upgrade to a terabyte of space I can use. Now i'll have to save up for an evo 950 1 TB.

1.0 out of 5 stars P34A80 NVMe DO NOT BUY, bait&switch
By Sebastian on May 20, 2020
Really scummy move by silicone power, my last purchase from them. The initial units (sent to reviewers) were good using DDR4, E12 controller and Toshiba flash units. The model you will get doesn't use the E12 anymore, uses MUCH slower DDR3 and some cheap Chinese flash units. Speeds are about 1000MB/s slower than advertised.
Do a google search for P34A80 Unic and you will see what I mean.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not functioning as advertised or defective
By HayMar69 on November 3, 2019
Installed the 1TB SSD in my Gaming laptop as a secondary storage drive, im getting 10-40MB/s write speed which is a fraction of the rated speed and less than half of the speed of a normal hard drive. unfortunately I wasnt able to install it until after the return window with Amazon and not sure how to have my drive replaced.

Plug and play on either Intel or AMD based system with NVMe PCIe x4 m.2 2280 form factor. Ensure that you do the warranty registration to enjoy the 5 years warranty.

Tested this on an Asus and MSI board, Intel i7-9700KF. Able to reach the advertised 3000Mbps speed read/write on sequential files. OK product with affordable pricing.

Ensure that you get the A80 model, not the lower end DRAMless A60. Pay a little bit extra for a considerable performance boost.

5.0 out of 5 stars superb ................blazing speed............
Reviewed in India on December 2, 2020
This is my genuine review, It's really amazing... I have never seen this scores in my previously used ssd's. It's speed reached what they have advertised. I used it in my asus vivobook 15 (i3 8th gen with 12 gb ram). most tempting for this A80 model SSD is TBW. It has a 1665 TBW and 5 years warranty whichever is earlier. this is the only SSD offering 1665 TBW, when it compares to Samsung 970 pro they offer only 1200 TBW of Rs 28k.
