I used this with the
SportRack Crest 2 Bike Platform Hitch Rack
on a 1 1/4-in receiver and it works great.
Pros:
1) Anti-rattle bolt works well to reduce rattling of the bike rack.
2) Easy to use. I can install my bike rack with this hitch pin in under 5 minutes. Lock just pushes onto the bolt without needing to insert or twist the key.
3) Detent on bolt also works with some clips if there are times you don't want to use the actual lock and want to use a clip instead.
Con:
1) Bolt extends beyond hitch a bit depending on the size of your receiver. A determined thief with a bolt cutter can cut it with some effort.
2) Lock cylinder itself is easy to defeat. I am a novice lock picking enthusiast and can pick the lock in under 10 seconds. The push-on design also makes it technically shimmable.
3) The biggest con is that the keys are the same for all the locks of the same model. I bought 2 locks, one for me and one for a gift and the keys are interchangable.
Although the list on cons might sound bad, you gotta realize that all locks have security flaws. If a thief is determined enough to steal your bike rack, he or she will find a way. Your average unequipped hoodlum most likely won't be carrying a wrench, bolt cutter, lock picks, same key. Overall, I think this is secure enough if you need to keep your rack and bikes unattended for short periods but I would recommend adding a strong cable lock to lock your bikes, rack and hitch all together if you plan on leaving them unattended for longer periods in a sketchy area.

Depuis l’achat le bout ( qui barre) était difficile a verrouiller. Aujourd’hui en allant à vélos, rendu à destination, le lock était tombé. Donc perdu sur la route. Est-ce que ceci est garantie?

I own a 2019 GMC Sierra, using sportrack swing away rack SR2415. Screws in perfectly fine. But I couldn’t attach the lock on the bolt, I had to grind the plastic down around the lock where the bolt goes in. Fits snug now but works. 2” receiver

This is not a Thule original.

This is not an original as advertised, the thread pitch doesn’t fit a Thule classic t2. I went to REI and got the original from Thule and guess what it treads perfectly.

Tight fit on an Acura MDX
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 15, 2018Verified Purchase
It fits - just. I'm using this lock on a factory 2014 Acura MDX hitch. Lock really doesn't fit except at an odd angle pointing towards the ground. It also fits at an upward angle but you can't put the key into the lock. I tried to bend one of the keys a bit to miss the vehicle bumper and the key just broke. No worries, I was still able to use the remaining key stub and a pair of needle nose pliers to unlock it from the car. Next time I'll use the downward position option so I can use the remaining key until it wears out. The next time I buy a lock it will be a cylinder lock which doesn't occupy as much space. Mostly a situation with my car, not the lock. By the way I'm using this lock with the OEM Acura MDX (2014) hitch and a Curt 18085 rack.

Great Locking Hitch Pin
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 21, 2021Verified Purchase
I have a Nashbar Shadow DLX rack (4 bike) and lost the anti wobble hitch bolt and lock - This looked exactly the same so I figured Id try it - guess what it is exactly the same and works great . Also threaded into yakima bighorn hitch rack. The only drabacks are the key cover doesnt stay in place when closed and it isnt Ft Knox level of security but it is fine for casual average deterrence /theft prevention- I am happy overall

Wrong thread pattern
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 28, 2022Verified Purchase
The thread pattern slight off. The resistance starts right away where it should easily thread on by hand. Tried another bolt to check and easily threaded on. Thule 4 Bike Apex.

Does not fit on 2017 Tacoma
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 30, 2020Verified Purchase
I tried to install this with a SportRack Ridge Swing 4 Bike Rack SR2415 on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup with a 2" receiver. The bolt is too short to lock. It is about 1/4" too short with the washers it came with. Even when I removed the washers, it was a tiny bit too short and will not lock.
