I bought this book thinking it was a traditional “I spy” book, but it is not, and that’s probably my fault for not reading the full description. The corresponding things that go with each of the letters, are a far stretch 😬, “X is for x-mas sleigh” but my kid loves all the monster trucks in the pages so it’ll stay on our shelf for reading.

I thought this would be an easy seek and find type book for toddlers with a box to the side with some things they are supposed to find in the larger picture. Instead, it goes through the alphabet, having kids find which thing on the page begins with "A", "B", "C" etc. Except a toddler doesn't realize that "yacht" begins with "Y".. .if they can even look at the picture and know that it's a yacht instead of a boat. And by the time they are old enough to realize that, I doubt this book will entertain them. The pictures aren't even that great. I guess you could say on each page "Where's the '_____'?" But that's the only way I see this being useful.

It is a strange i spy book, where you find the names of the pictures that start with the letter. I didnt know what they were getting at with some of the letters/ pictures until i read it. Would you know that was an iceboat? I also think it might be British? The "P" I spy is a pram, referred to as a stroller in the US. It's good exposure but not necessarily apparent.
