About Steven Forrest
Steven Forrest is the author of several astrological bestsellers, in-cluding THE INNER SKY, THE CHANGING SKY, THE BOOK OF PLUTO, THE NIGHT SPEAKS, and the new astrology classic YESTERDAY’S SKY.
Steven’s work has been translated into a dozen languages, most recently Chinese and Italian. He travels worldwide to speak and teach his brand of choice-centered “evolutionary” astrology, which integrates free will, grounded humanistic psychology and ancient metaphysics.
Along with his busy private practice, he maintains active astrological apprenticeship programs in California, Australia, North Carolina, and Switzerland. He is a founding member of the Ethics Committee of the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR).
The musician Sting calls Steven’s work “as intelligent and cogent as it is poetic.” DELL HOROSCOPE describes him as “not only a premier astrologer, but also a wise man.” Callie Khouri, who wrote the screenplay for the mega-hit film Thelma and Louise, praises his “humor, insight, poetry, and astute, articulate observations of human nature.” O: THE OPRAH MAGAZINE describes his philosophy this way: “Forrest’s approach...stops the blame game in its tracks...we’re warriors fulfilling our turbulent evolutionary paths.” Actor Robert Downey Jr. says, “I marvel at the accuracy of Steve’s readings. He insists that nothing is so grave as to be beyond repair, and correspondingly that there is no rainbow that won’t be evaporated by poor judgment in the now. I can’t recommend him highly enough.” And Rob Brezsny, in his popular “Real Astrology” column, simply calls him “the most brilliant astrologer alive.”

author Steven Forrest offers a model for how astrology works,
illuminating the reasons, both rational and transcendent, that astrology
has been the focus of his spiritual life.
In his own words, “I love astrology passionately. Every day I see it
helping people. But on the street, astrology is still mostly viewed as
silliness. Anyone who ‘believes in it’ is taken for a fool. This inspired
me to ask: Could I write the book an open-minded critic might read
and be inspired to give astrology an hour to prove itself? Could I write
one that my clients could confidently hand their skeptical friends? In
other words, could I break through the monumental wall of prejudice
and ignorance that has kept astrology trapped in its ghetto? This book
is my response, and explains why astrology is both intellectually and
As you come to understand Neptune’s place in your life, a treasure map emerges—one that reveals your best pathway into higher states of consciousness, while warning you about delusions custom-designed to con you into squandering your own soul. Underlying every word is the core notion that everyone is different—that one-size-fits-all spiritual practices can only take us so far. In a nutshell, The Book of Neptune helps you clean the windowpane that stands between you and your own ultimate divinity.
Steven begins with an introduction to the philosophy behind his approach to astrological forecasting, or predictive techniques. He describes the potentials each outer planet represents in terms of their ability to funtion as "Teachers or Tricksters". And he describes each inner planets style of energy as a trigger for unfolding events or processes. He follows with descriptions for each of the houses in a forecasting context, and the tasks each house represents.
In the transits section you'll learn how to read the meaning of the current positions of the planets in the sky compared to one's birth chart. And in the next section, you'll learn progressions - how each planet in the birth chart evolves over time.
The progressions section includes descriptions for each of the planets, the progressed Moon through the houses and signs, and the changing angles (Midheaven and Ascendant).
This second edition (first published in 1998) includes the addition of Chapter 10, which includes complete descriptions of the progressed planets in aspect to each of the natal planets. This section alone has made this one of the most popular modern reference books for transits and progressions readings.
Finally you'll learn The Art of Synthesis - how to distill this complex information into a reading or personal chart exploration. The book ends with an example of the techniques applied to Vincent Van Gogh's life using his birth chart.
With a focus on personal freedom and responsibility, this practical guide to predictive astrology shows the reader how to make better life choices and literally create the future by tracking the positions of the planets in motion and aligning one's personal energies with the planetary Changing Sky.
