I bought this TV to use with the Amazon Fire Stick, DVD player and my laptop. It was hard to insert the VGA plug, audio cord and the DVD plugs because of how the inputs are positioned. I had to purchase a VGA/HDMI adapter just to hooked up my laptop. The sound quality is also very tinny. I'm using old speakers that I had to bypass the TV speakers. MUCH BETTER.
I bought a Supersonic 13" tv for our kitchen. The picture was awesome, but just too small. I bought a Westinghouse 19" to replace it, but due to the arrangement of our kitchen, we look downward at about a 15 degree angle to watch the tv and the contrast at that viewing angle was horrid. In addition, the sound was terribly tinny and distorted at reasonable levels. I bought the Supersonic 19" to replace the Westinghouse. Fortunately, the Supersonic has good contrast at a downward angle (but not great at an upper viewing angle, a limitation of the flat-screen technology-you can't have a wide viewing angle like a CRT tv). The picture quality is good, but the sound quality is no match for a larger tv, it seems weak and tinny. The tone controls have no discernable effect. I have heard better sound quality from tablets, so I know with current technology Supersonic might have paid more attention to sound quality, even at this low price point, which is the sole reason that I did not rate this with 5 stars.
This screen fit perfectly in the portable gaming station i built. The picture is great but the screen is similar to a laptop screen. You have to be directly in front of the screen for a perfect picture, otherwise the screen will be dark. The speakers aren't that great but better than a computer monitor without speakers. One of the wall mounting threaded parts keeps falling into the tv. Good thing it's easy to take apart and reassemble. All in all it's still a great buy. I will be buying more for other portable gaming boxes i plan on building.
The TV was easy to connect and setup - my Mother is 82 and technically challenged, but she set it up herself. Soon after she got it connected and turned on, she was ready to send it back. The sound quality was terrible; there was a lot of static. She also said the volume was not high enough for her. And, yes, the sound issues were noticiable at all volume settings. Mom is not one to complain so quickly - more likely to think she did something wrong - so this was really bad.
We never tried any input source other than cable, so it may work better as a monitor or to play DVDs in a kid's room.
I like every thing about it, except, we could not find the appropriate code to allow my Dish network remote to turn it off without my having to use the SuperSonic remote to turn the TV off. Also, I purchased two and had to install a couple of external speakers to get reasonably good sound quality. The price was the main draw, but other than that, would grade it as a 3 star, over all.
You can only see the screen if you look at the tv straight on. I can't attest to the durability since im sending it back after less than 1 day. Its really hard to plug in HDMI and it only has 1 HDMI plug in. I know other reviews mentuoned the angle thing, but I thought mayne they exaggerated. I was wrong, you can only see the screen from straight in front of it. The picture quality is clean and crisp but does no good if you move to the sode or slouch down in the couch or bed... Also, the sound is terrible even at the highest volume. So if you do decide to buy despite everything else, invest in speakers as well.
This thing's a piece of junk. We bought it for the bedroom of our 5th wheel. Had it for 14 months now. 4-5 months ago it started randomly having a tiny picture near the top left of the screen, about 20 percent ,the rest of the screen black.this just got worse and worse. You can find a 22" Insignia 1080 P HD TV for under $60.00 bucks and get an AC/DC converter all day long for another 10. Never again.
I selected this 19" tv to enjoy in my small craft room. I selected it because of its size and light weight. I read a lot of reviews. I am very pleased with this product. The colors are great; sound quality is very satisfactory; and I have no problems seeing it from any area in the room. My craft room is about 9x11. I think it would work well in any small space. I am so glad I got it.
Voice quality is very poor sounds tinny. Unable to connect with dish control only one speaker works. Called the manufacturer and they were unable to help us with the problems. The picture is fair you have to look at the picture from a distance to see it clearly. We would not purchase anything from this company again.
I bought this TV with high hopes, particularly given the pitch that it's 1080p and HD. Wow, was I disappointed! The picture quality was poor, and very poor if you watch at any angle other than directly in front of it. The sound quality was also very poor -- tinny and insufficient volume. But here's the good news: (1) The non-Amazon seller (The Wires Zone) send me a free UPS mailing label, I shipped it back to them, and they refunded me in full, and (2) After returning it, I bought the "Samsung UN19F4000 19-Inch 720p 60Hz LED TV (2013 Model)" and that one I RECOMMEND. The Samsung is FAR superior in all aspects -- fine picture (even when viewed at an angle it is watchable) and sound, with similar features, even though it's only 720p and is the 2013 model (it is now 2016)! The only feature lacking in the Samsung that was available in the SuperSonic is the ability to play it using a DC source; so obviously if you need that, you may be stuck with the SuperSonic; if not, get the Samsung.
