I stayed with this because Karlsson gives it such authenticity. He understands the dynamics of people working in an open-plan environment - and he creates a very believable character with mental health issues. The Room is not story-led, but binds the reader tightly into the setting and main character. I really don't think I want to read a sequel, because The Room would surely be the scene of an unpleasant crime and its sole occupant would have committed it - but this is an addictive read.
