The fifth book feels like it nicely wraps up the main story points thus far, which could serve as a soft ending for some. The story is, however, left wide open for future adventures and new or old threats, and I am enjoying sticking with Felix's advancement to Grandmaster or beyond. This one had a lot more action than Fury (Book 4), and I have to say so far, the odd numbered books have been much better paced and enjoyable to read. The only negative is that I think the prospective changes still detract from pacing at times. If the character battles are not at the same level of intensity, swapping to the lower action character really deflates the adrenaline and the tension. If your character is in a life or death fight, only swap to someone in a similar fight or use a quick swap where each character gets a couple of paragraphs each.

To Author: Nicoli, I love the current pace of progression(about 2 books per rank) and hope to see a grandmaster or above rank by Book 10. It would be a real shame to rush your ending and have him defeat people like the Grand Inquisitor or the other threats, all with "Unbound" plot armour and not feel like Felix truly earned it especially if the other Unbound are not quite as robust.
