Amazon.ca:Customer reviews: Thule Shimano Thru-Axle Adapter , black (Carbon), 12 mm

Seems like a money grab for those while have thru axles. The attachment that comes with the Thule bike trailers have an 11mm diameter hole while most thru axles have a 12mm axle. If you have access to a machine shop, I’d not bother with this and simply ream the attachment to fit 12mm. A little elbow grease and you don’t need this adapter.

Does not fit Giant Trance 1 (2018) because the thread pitch on this axle isn’t fine enough.

Check your current axle for its specifications

Most axles will have the dims written on them when you remove it. You need to know the length, diameter (usually 12mm) and the thread pitch which is the distance between each notch of thread.

This model (20100766) is for a 12mm diameter, 170mm length (should work on 167-170) and 1.5mm thread pitch (M12x1.5 is how it will be written on the axle or on the web page for your bike models specifications). Thread pitch can be 1, 1.5 and 1.75.

Again Thule makes about 6 different Thru-axle adapters and it's not always clear on Amazon which one you're buying.

Doesn't fit Giant E+2

All was OK with the product, it arrived in time, in good shape.
This review is more a hint for future buyers - although you can find a lot of sites claiming that it fits Giant e-bikes, it didn't fit my Giant Fathome E+2 pro.

I successfully returned it.

Schnelle Lieferung und problemlose Rücknahme wegen Fehlkaufs. Man sollte unbedingt vorher die Thule-Webseite konsultieren und sich über die 3 verschiedenen Ausführungen genaustens informieren denn mittlerweile gibt es mindestens 5 verschiedene Steckachsentypen die sich in Länge, Flansch ( konisch oder zylindrisch) und vor allem Gewindesteigung voneinander unterscheiden. Mir konnte zwar die benötigte Achse mit 1.75 Steigung ( ISO Gewinde M12) nicht im Austausch geliefert werden aber ich habe mein Geld anstandslos zurückbekommen und anderweitig die gewünschte Steckachse bekommen.
