Went through two pair of the Ag-Boss steel toes over the years, and they were the best boots I'd ever wore. Unfortunately my last pair broke down this winter and I had to replace them. Couldn't find that same boot anymore and it seemed that Timberland had replaced them with these True Grit boots. They look about identical and although they are as comfortable as every other Timberland Pro boot right out of the box, these ones rub my heel in a way that no other Pro boots had before. After a couple months they don't bother me as much, but they definitely aren't the same as the original Ag Boss boots and I won't be buying another pair of these.
These are good heavy duty no-nonsense work-in-the-timberland boots. Given the stiff heel support, be prepared with moleskin to cover blisters the first week or two. The heel-surround does not bend, but it is high and provides good ankle protection. The thick leather and hard toe should stop any rattler.
I actually really like these boots despite them being very comfortable until they weren't. I received a defective pair first and requested an exchange. The heel/ankle support (i'm assuming what they consider the "exospine" was digging into the back of my ankle. Had to limp back to the truck and throw my old boots back on. I am an inspector and all I do is walk and stand for long periods of time. Hope the 2nd pair work out!
I generally wear between a size 13-14. Most everything similar to this seemed to run a little on the smaller side so I ordered a 14. They came in and were probably at least a half size too big. I was going to just suck it up and try them but decided to try a 13. The 13 came in a couple days later and seemed to fit great. Well after about 2-3 weeks wearing them in the snow they seemed to have shrunk. So now today my tow seems to be rubbing on the toe of the boot making it very uncomfortable. May have to try the 14 next.🤷🏻♂️
3 stare cause looked like they were literally walked in before shipped out haha but I Bought about 6 months ago still going strong and I do concrete so that answers most your questions cleans easy stiching is ok come loose in some place but that's normal wear tear on boots heavy duty rain sleet or snow can get you ok it the door and job done
Amazing pull-on boot for the price, sized to exact dimensions. Dirt man myself, spend all day on my feet and so far there’s no sign of these boots throwing in. Super comfortable out of the box and don’t think you’ll need aftermarket soles. Highly recommend.
