It's possible that your "source-device" (ex : DVD reader) will not be recognised by Toshiba TV screen. The TV is set to HDMI 2.0 and is not automatically retro-compatible. Don't bring the TV back : You simply have to go into "Setups" to ajust manually to HDMI 1.4. Otherwise, this TV screen and Fire system in it are simply a bang for the buck.

A month and a half later id say this is a fine TV for the budget conscious that enjoys gaming or anyone looking for a secondary TV for a play room or bedroom. Id even consider a larger version of this TV as a main TV if my Samsung died.
I have had several Toshiba TV's in the past and they have always excelled at video games especially with low input lag. This unit is no exception hooked up my Xbox One Series X and there is no noticeable input lag. The TV is also smart enough to decide if the Xbox is playing a game or watching a video and turns on & off game mode accordingly.
It is clearly a 60 Hertz TV as the motion in a high detailed scene like panning over a Forrest or moving water can be a little jittery (thanks Youtube 4k scenery). However its not terribly noticeable when watching standard TV shows and movies and if i did not have a 120 Hertz 4k tv as a main Tv I probably would not noticed the lack of smooth motion. However this can be a little noticeable in some video games but not enough to impact game play.
The black's are pretty black (blacker than our higher end Samsung) and the HDR works well. The picture is great. The only thing i have yet to figure out is sometimes a video running from prime video or YouTube plays smaller than the whole screen with black borders on all four sides of the image. I totally understand sometimes there is top and bottom bars for wide angle shots but i cant figure out why there is side and top bars... I am thinking it might be spotty WIFI but cant confirm.
The remote is cool the voice features do not seem to be built into each app like the Samsung I think it just asks Alexa to look for it across all the apps its not something i am terribly interested in Call me old fashioned but i like to type in my searches.
I wish there was a way to reprogram the buttons on the bottom of the remote as I don't subscribe to 3 of the 4 services built into the remote.
As far as Smart Features go its very similar if not identical to a fire stick. Which i do think is a good format as far as menus go its fairly intuitive and things are where you would expect them to be.
The audio is surprisingly decent in the past the Toshiba TV speakers tended to be flat and quiet & i half expected to have to buy a sound bar. However i was pleasantly surprised that there is a reasonable amount of range in the speakers and the audio is actually quite loud. Don't get me wrong they are still TV speakers but they way exceeded expectations and I don't feel the need to add a sound bar.
One slight gripe is sometimes i am using a VPN for the entire house and Amazon and other apps sometimes call you on it and tell you to turn it off. This is not necessarily specific to the TV however I wish the industry as a whole would instead of ask you to turn it off just default to show you the content available for the country you are in. Just because i am working from home shouldn't mean no-one in the house should be able to watch TV (i have work arounds though).
It’s great quality
