A solid, interesting start

One star off for the repetitive and sometimes incorrect use of the word portentous, as well as the occasional use of other impressive (in a word of the day kind of way) but ultimately less effective words.

Drew me in enough to want to read the next book. World building was pretty solid, if a bit trope-heavy. The action trotted along at an engaging and believable pace.

Character development was spotty. I wanted to know more about Luna's family than that she has one. She's worried about her friends, and her family, but we don't even know her who her family is, even though that information would be easier for someone who doesn't know her to get, and therefore her family would actually be in greater danger than her friends. In general, everyone around Luna had greater depth of character than she did.

I'm hoping her characterization will improve with the next book. If not, I'm going to be out.

I found myself, wanting more action and streamy between the two main characters. While the characters are great, it felt a bit boring for me. Slow burn was not what I was looking forward to reading this novel. While the world building was good, I felt it needed to be more detailed.

Characters,

Luna- my kind of gal. We are the same height and both of us love reading books.
Dominic - Broody, and dark for sure but he sounds sexy with her confidence.
Anand was very mysterious i want to know more about him. He also sounds very hot as well.
Helena was too much for me. i really wanted her to disappear from the book.

The human characters, felt flat to me and i hated her ex.

Would i recommended this book.... yes i would.

Loved A Touch of Brimstone!! The story draws you in from the very start and won’t let you go. It’s fast paced and filled with magic and mayhem. Not only are the main characters Luna and Dominic a force to be reckoned with but their friends are wonderfully written and I do believe that we will be rooting for them to get books of their own.
You won’t regret downloading this book so get to it and enjoy! Happy reading!

This was a good start to a new series. It was engaging and entertaining. I didn't really enjoy the main characters reluctance to start a relationship due to who the other character is. But the characters were enjoyable.
I'm excited to see where this series goes.

For anyone who likes fantasy meet normal human.Keeps you guessing whether they will get together or not while they try and sort who is responsible etc.I won’t say anymore.
I also liked the characters which is a must for me otherwise i get to frustrated and can’t read anymore.

Well this story has me totally hooked. (Don’t worry no spoilers)

Thrust into a world of supernaturals, Luna is in the centre of it all when prisoners are released from the underworld and everything points to her. But why a human with no magic? Now with marks on her finger she must work with the prince of the underworld to undo the spells and put the prisoners back. All without dying, even though many want her dead.

I enjoyed the characters of Luna and Dominic and look forward to seeing how things develop in the next instalment. I’ve recently discovered this genre of supernaturals meets mystery and this is defining in the favourites. Although I did have an inclination of who the perpetrator may be, I wasn’t disappointed in my guess being true as it made sense without being far fetched. Now onto book 2 to find out why!
