Honestly I read like 4.5 pages when I found this laying on the floor in my moms office. Seems like a great, informative book. My parents have become oddly great with the way they handle my transition and changes. I suspect that started happening when they got this book. I was not supposed to have found this and it is currently hiding again. Mom, if you're reading this, I'll find it again. Keep up the good parenting.

This book is an excellent resource full of great information. If you've already read The Transgender Child, you'll find some overlap, but there are still new useful aspects dealing especially with teenagers. It is sometimes a bit repetitive, but I'd definitely recommend it.

I received my book, it was as described, and I was excited to start reading it. Honestly, I was super surprised that it assumes that the reader disagrees with gender equality. I guess I assumed it would go over how to help with the transition of using pronouns, how to explain it to other people, but in reality it was a whole lot of "Now I'm sure you feel disappointed that you're child is transgender but here's how you should view it." ... No.. I am not disappointed at all nor do I disagree with it. I don't need help "coping" with the news, I need help with the transition. However, it does have a place in the world and I'm happy that there are books like this to help more conservative parents that may not agree with their child's new discovery about themselves. So I'll give it four stars as it is a good book for some, just not me.

I ordered the transgender teen after listening to the Transgender Child as an audiobook. Recently had a family member expose their true feelings about themselves and instead of being ignorant on the subject I decided it was time to get educated on this subject because it’s an emerging topic in todays society and has truthfully been since the dawn of time. I hope If you know someone going through this or yourself you take the time to educate yourself and not be judgmental; it’s scary enough for a transgender child to come to terms with; don’t be selfish and make it about you.
