The 6 Types of Working Genius is the fastest way to help people identify the type of work that brings them joy and energy, and avoid work that leads to frustration and burnout.
Beyond the personal discovery and instant relief that Working Genius provides, the model also gives teams a remarkably simple and practical framework for tapping into one another’s natural gifts, which increases productivity and reduces unnecessary judgment.
In classic Lencioni fashion, Pat brings his model to life in a page-turning fable that is as relatable as it is compelling. He tells the story of Bull Brooks, an entrepreneur, husband, and father who sets out to solve his own frustration at work and stumbles into a new way of thinking that changes the way he sees his work, his team, and even his marriage.
What sets this book—and the model behind it—apart from other tools and assessments is the speed at which it can be understood and applied, and the relevance it has to every kind of work in life, from running a company to launching a product to managing a family.
In addition to this book, Lencioni and the Table Group have created a 10-minute assessment that helps individuals quickly identify their gifts and apply this model to themselves and their teams. Join the hundreds of thousands of people who have already discovered their Working Genius, and experience the transformation in your work, your team, and your life.

This book was fun to read and enjoyable to learn these lessons!
The topic was easy to understand and helpful to provide reasoning for why some teams seem to fail when the team assembled appears at its face to be excellent - > they might be missing one, or more, of the working genius types!
I highly recommend that you check this book out!
Thank you so much to Net Galley, Author Patrick M. Lencioni and publisher Matt Holt for this advance copy to review. My review was unswayed by any outside influence and represents my own opinions.
Was disappointed in the fable and unnecessary language used in it..
Material was not as clear as his other books
I think pats book on the 5 dysfunctions of a team is soo much better.
Overall his writing is excellent and would read another if it came out. This just wasn't my favorite.
I think if your going to add that your a person of faith, keep the language out

Working Genius and the assessment have been invaluable for our team, even our family. Understanding that my desire to solve problem (Invention) and to rally folks around an idea (Galvanizing) makes sense and also understanding my “frustrations” of Tenacity and Enablement have been very helpful because I had been questioning my real value to our team when I am not excited and feel drained around taking a project to completion on my own. Rallying the team around the idea I can do, taking it to the end, it is draining.
In our marriage it helped me understand that my bride’s “Genius” of Discernment is not her way to criticizing my ideas randomly (business or otherwise) but to help ensure that the things I or we attempt are fruitful.
The Working Genius also gives us language to use when moving through a project. In the beginning we need to think about a problem to be solved, ways to fix it, arguing the merits until a decision is reached and then move forward with rallying the team, encouraging them through the process until we have finished it. As we move through the three key stages it enables the team to let the wonderer know that since we have decided on a solution that questioning it further at this point is not what we need to focus on. Or they can remind me that once we are into the enablement and tenacity phase we do not need additional solutions, but need to focus on pushing through to the end.
